The Jays have made a big deal with Baltimore sending C Geovany Soto, 1B Carlos Pena and CF Anthony Gose (5 star prospect AAA) to Baltimore for C Matt Wieters, and 1B/3B Mark Reynolds. The Jays were not getting much at all from Soto and Pena and look forward to getting Reynolds and Wieters bats in the lineup. Reynolds will take over for Pena batting 5th, and Wieters will come right behind him at 6. It was tough to lose such a great prospect in Gose, but the team feels it helps them compete more with the powerhouse teams.

4 games into the season and the Jays make another move reshaping the team due to contract problems. The team realized that next season they need to either sign Hanley Ramirez or Brett Lawrie and the team decided the SS was more in the plans for them. They traded 2B Brett Lawrie, DH Matt Joyce to Washington for DH/LF Michael Morse, and 2B Danny Espinosa. This deal gives Toronto the same if not better power from the 5 hole in Morse for a couple years, and it gives them a better fielding 2B. The team had to lose Joyce in the deal but it was the only fit for them.

The team also made 2 minor moves sending 5 Star Prospect LF Pete Clarke, and a AA prospect to the Pirates for 3B Pedro Alvarez. Alvarez was demoted to AAA for Pittsburgh and Toronto liked him so took a chance. They also sent C Brian Jeroloman to Seattle for AAA CF Michael Saunders. This was strictly for AAA purposes.

- Austin Jackson is also back to the big club.

Lineup:
CF Austin Jackson
SS Hanley Ramirez
RF Jose Bautista
3B Evan Longoria
DH Michael Morse
1B Kendry Morales
C Alex Avila
2B Danny Espinosa
LF Domonic Brown

OF Jon Jay
OF Peter Bourjos
3B/DH Pedro Alvarez
SS/2B Ryan Theriot

World Series Champs Toronto make 3 massive moves to start the new season. The team needed to shuffle the lineup due to contracts (1 year remaining) and to get a bit more salary room. Here they are:

- Toronto trades RF Jayson Heyward to Tampa for 3B Evan Longoria. Wow, many though Longoria was untouchable, but when Toronto shopped Heyward around because of his injury rehab Tampa jumped on it by offering Longoria 1-1. Longoria needed a fresh start and Toronto was the perfect fit, since they can move Bautista back to RF and play Longoria at 3B. Tampa gets a nice young OF in Heyward who improved to 93 overall and should be a stud for now and the future.

- Toronto trades 2B/SS Maicer Izturis, SS Ralph King (AAA) to Giants for SS/2B Ryan Theriot. Izturis was awful for Toronto last season and they like the upgrade at backup middle infielder. San Francisco gets a similar type player and SS depth for their AAA team.

- Toronto trades C JP Arencieba, 3B Danny Valencia, OF Ezequiel Carrera to Detroit for C Alex Avila, RP Joaquin Beniot, LF Andy Dirks. This is a big trade because JP hit 11 HR last season, but is due for a massive extension after the season. Valencia should be full time but won't after Jackson is done rehabbing. Toronto gets a nice Catcher who will hit for power and contact, plus they get a nice setup man after losing Cordero to retirement. They also get Dirks who is a piece in the next deal.

Toronto Trades 1B Mark Teixiera, SP Brandon Beachy, LF Andy Dirks to the Angels for 1B Kendry Morales, SP CJ Wilson, and CF Peter Bourjos. This move suprised many as Tex was a big part of the title. The team needed to free up some sallary and get a nice power 1B in Morales, plus they upgrade their SP in Wilson who should add to this stud rotation. Bourjos will be a nice addition to the OF.

Despite not having Jason Heyward and Austin Jackson, the Jays managed to grab the World Series vs. Miami. Chacin pitched a gem going 4.1 innings allowing only 2 hits. There was no scoring until the third when ex Marlin Hanley Ramirez hit a RBI single to score Brown. Next inning, JP Arencieba drove in Lawrie who got on 1st and stole 2nd with a RBI single up the middle. Once again the bullpen was solid and Santos closed it out. Domonic Brown was named WS MVP.

Toronto Blue Jays 2, Texas Rangers 0:
W: Jimenez (1-0) - 4IP, 3H, 0ER, 5K (H: Cordero, Howell SV: Santos)
L: Darvish (0-1) - 5IP 6H, 2ER, 3K
Blue Jays:
Teixiera - 1/2 HR(1) , RBI, R
Joyce - 1/2 RBI
Lawrie - 1/2 R, SB
Rangers:
Young - 2/3 RBI, K

- Wow, what a nail biter. Toronto gets a good 4 inning performance from Jimenez who struck out 5 and allowing only 3 hits. The game started with 2 errors by Ramirez leading to a Young RBI single. The Jays couldn't get anything going until the 5th, when Mark Teixiera drilled a solo HR to center. Lawrie singled and stole 2nd, and Joyce hit a RBI single to make it 2-1. The bullpen would shutout Texas ended by a Santos save.

Athletics:
Weeks - 1/4 RBI, K

- The Jays take the first round vs. Oakland despite a shaky start for Romero who went 3 innings of 5 hit ball allowing 2 runs in a no decision. Oakland got to Romero early in the 2nd with a RBI single by Seth Smith to make it 1-0. Toronto would come back the same inning behind a Arencieba solo HR, 1-1. In the 4th, Seth Smith hit a RBI single to make it 2-1. Again the Jays would come back behind a 2-Run HR from Lawrie, and a solo HR from Arencieba (his 2nd of the game), 3-2 Jays. In the 5th, Arencieba would hit a RBI single, and Teixiera a RBI single for insurance to make it 6-2.

Round 2 vs. Texas Rangers: Yu Darvish vs. Ubaldo Jimenez

- The Jays finished 1st in the league with a 42-10 record, but lost RF Jayson Heyward for the rest of the season and playoffs with a fractured hand. This will be a big blow for the Jays. Look for Valencia to get full time for the playoffs. Toronto's AAA club Las Vegas 51's ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE AAA LEAGUE.

Toronto saw its 20th straight victory at the end of this set of games, greatly powered by the HR ball and great starting pitching. They have a record of 34-3 and look to be the favorites to win it all this year. Jose Bautista has 16 HR now on the year and with 2 months to go already has 2 HR more then last years MVP season. Lawrie is at 9HR with 2 months to go, which is 2 more than he hit last season as well. CF Austin Jackson is now on a AAA Rehab stint (playoffs just starting, so the glitch might keep him there)

Game 34: Toronto Blue Jays 3, Cleveland Indians 1:
W: Alvarez (6-0) - 4IP 2H, 1ER, 8K (H: Howell, SV: Santos)
L: Carmona (2-4) - 5IP 7H, 1ER, 1BB
Blue Jays:
Brown - 0/3 R
Ramirez - 1/3 R, 2B
Bautista - 2/3 RBI
Heyward - 1/1 RBI, BB
Jay - 1/2 R, SB
Valencia - 0/1 RBI, SF
Indians:
Bochy - 2/2 HR, RBI, R

- Toronto got a great pitching performance from Alvarez who struck out 8 batters and only allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 4 innings. The game started with a Bautista RBI single, followed by a Heyward RBI single to make it 2-0. Ex 1st pick for Toronto Bochy hit a solo HR in the 3rd to cut it to 2-1. Valencia hit a Sacrificed Fly the same inning to make it 3-1 Toronto.

Game 35: Toronto Blue Jays 7, New York Yankees 1:
W: Romero (6-1) - 4IP 2H, 1ER, 3K (H: Cordero)
L: Sabathia (6-2) - 5IP 13H, 5ER, 1BB, 2K
Blue Jays:
Brown - 2/4 HR(5), 2RBI, 2R, 2B, K
Ramirez - 3/4 RBI, R, 2-2B, SB
Bautista - 2/4 HR(15), 2RBI, R
Heyward - 1/4 R, 2-SB
Valencia - 3/3 HR(2), RBI, R
Jay - 0/0 R, SB
Yankees:
Swisher - 1/2 HR, RBI, R

- The Jays beat the Yankees once again this time by getting 13 hits off ace Sabathia. This Blue Jays team hits great against lefties and here is proof. Romero went 4 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits. The Jays got a lead off solo HR from Brown to make it 1-0. Next inning, Valencia hit a ball to Granderson who missed the diving catch allowing Valencia to score an inside the park H to make it 2-0. Next inning, Hanley Ramirez hit a RBI double to make it 3-0. In the 6th, Bautista hit a 2-Run HR, Brown hit a RBI double, and Arencieba a RBI single to make it 7-0. Swisher hit a solo HR for New York in the 1st as well but thats all they would muster vs. Toronto.

Game 36: Toronto Blue Jays 7, Tampa Bay Rays 0:
W: Beachy (4-1) - 6IP, 1H, 0ER, 9K
L: Sheilds (3-5) - 1IP 4H, 4ER
Blue Jays:

Lawrie - 1/3 HR(9), 3RBI, R
Arencieba - 1/2 HR(6), RBI, R

- Toronto continued their domination behind the best start from a SP of the season from Brandon Beachy. He struck out 9 batters, while only allowing 1 hit in the complete game shutout. The 1st saw Bautista hit a solo HR, and Lawrie a 3-Run HR to make it 4-0 and chase Sheilds out of the game. Next inning didn't fare any better as Arencieba hit a solo HR, followed by a Teixiera RBI single, and Bautista RBI double to make it 7-0.

Game 37: Toronto Blue Jays 4, Boston Red Sox 1:
W: Chacin (6-0) - 5IP 2H, 1ER, 6K (SV: Santos)

Red Sox:
Lavarnway - 1/2 HR, RBI, R

- This was Toronto's 20th straight win, behind 5 innings of 2 hit, 1 run ball from Chacin while fanning 6 batters. The offense didn't get going until the 4th, when Hanley Ramirez his a bases clearing 3-RBI double, and Brown grounded out but got a RBI on the play to make it 3-0. Boston would try and make it close with a Lavarnway solo HR but that's all they would get.

The Jays continue their amazing season with 2 close wins against Baltimore, and wins vs. Detroit and Kansas City to improve to 30-3. We are at the trade deadline and Bautista already has as many HR as he did a year ago when he won the title and the MVP. Lawrie has really picked it up hitting 3 HR in this set of games. Hanley Ramirez missed Game 31 vs. Detroit with a sore leg and Izturis filled in at SS for him and did well. In game 33, Joyce left the game with a lower back injury and will be out for 5 days. Jon Jay is off the DL and expecting to get regular time at CF until Jackson is back from his long term injury. I made it 6 inning games, so for the most part SP are going an extra inning.

Game 30: Toronto 3, Baltimore 1:
W: Romero (5-1) - 3IP 2H, 0ER, 2K (SV: Santos)
L: Bundy (3-3) - 5IP 9H, 3ER, 1K
Blue Jays:
Ramirez - 1/3 R
Teixiera - 1/3 R, 2B
Heyward - 1/2 RBI
Lawrie - 1/2 HR(6), 2RBI, R
Orioles:
Miller - 1/2 HR, RBI, R, K

- The Jays get a nice outing by ace Ricky Romero going 3 innings of 2 hit shutout ball. In the 1st, Heyward, in his 1st game with Toronto hit a RBI single to make it 1-0. In the 5th, Lawrie would hit a 2-Run HR to make it 3-0, and in the bottom of the inning Jai Miller would hit a solo HR but it would be no good as the Jays win 3-1.

Game 31: Toronto 4, Kansas City 0:
W: Beachy (3-1) - 3.2IP 4H, 0ER (H: Villanueva)
L: Paulino (1-5) - 5.1IP 13H, 4ER, BB
Blue Jays:
Izturis - 1/3 R
Teixiera - 1/3 RBI, R, K
Heyward - 2/3 HR(5), 2RBI, R
Lawrie - 1/3 HR(7), RBI, R, SB

- Toronto gets another nice win here behind 3.2 innings of 4 hit shutout ball from Brandon Beachy. The offense didn't get going until the 3rd when Heyward hit a 2-Run HR, his 1st in a Jays uniform, and Lawrie came up behind him with a solo HR to make it 3-0. Next inning, Teixiera would hit a RBI single to make it 4-0 and end scoring.

Game 32: Toronto 4, Tigers 1:
W: Janssen (2-0) - 1IP 0H (SV: Santos)
L: Scherzer (5-2) - 6IP 8H, 4ER, 2B
Blue Jays:
Lawrie - 1/3 HR(8), RBI, 2R
Joyce - 1/3 R
Jay - 2/3 RBI, R, 2B
Izturis - 1/2 2RBI
Chacin - 4IP, 3H, 1ER, 4K
Tigers:
Fielder - 1/2 HR, RBI, R

- Toronto takes a close 1 here vs. Detroit. Chacin pitched 4 innings of 3 hit, 1 run ball but took a no decision. In the 4th, Lawrie hit a solo HR, his 3rd in 3 games to make it 1-0. Detroit would tie it in the same inning with a Fielder solo HR. In the top of the 6th, Jon Jay hit a RBI double, and Izturis hit a 2-RBI single to make it 4-1. Santos would come in to finish it for Toronto.

Game 33: Toronto 7, Baltimore 3:
W: Jimenez (8-0) - 3IP 4H, 3ER, 4K (H: Carreno, Cordero)
L: Arrieta (3-4) - 5IP 9H, 7ER, 1BB
Blue Jays:
Brown - 1/3 R, 2B
Ramirez - 1/3 R, 2B
Bautista - 3/3 2-HR(13, 14), 4RBI, 3R
Teixiera - 2/3 HR(6), 2RBI, R, 2B
Carrera - 0/0 R
Arencieba - 1/2 RBI
Orioles:
Reynolds - 2/3 HR, RBI, R, K
Davis - 1/3 HR, RBI, R, K
Bergmann - 1/2 RBI, 2B, K

This game was back and forth until the late stages when Toronto pulled away for the win. Jimenez recorded the win despite pitching 3 innings of 4 hit (2HR), 3 run ball. The win was his 8th of the season. In the 1st, Reynolds and Chris Davis both hit solo HR's to make it 2-0 Orioles. Jose Bautista would cut it in half with a solo HR. Next inning, Bergmann would hit a RBI double to make it 3-1 Baltimore. The same inning, Teixiera would hit a RBI double to cut it to 3-2. The 3rd inning saw Bautista hit a RBI single, and Arencieba hit a RBI single to put the Jays ahead 4-3. In the 5th inning Toronto pulled away behind a 2-Run HR from Bautista (2nd of the game) and a solo HR from Teixiera (1st as a Jay), to make it 7-3 and end the game.

Top Players - Games 30-33:
2B Brett Lawrie - 3HR, 4RBI, 4R, SB
3B Jose Bautista - 2HR, 4RBI, 3R
1B Mark Teixiera - 1HR, 3RBI, 2R
SP Ricky Romero - 3IP 2H, 0ER, 2K

A Few games before the trade deadline, and Toronto has made 2 moves to end their dealing for the season, and feel very comfortable with what they have and their core guys. Here are the 2 deals:

- Toronto Trades 3B David Freese, LF Eric Thames, and Wilson Hernandez (A) to Atlanta for RF Jason Heyward, 3B Brandon Hicks. The Jays wanted to move Thames to allow him to start with Jay back soon, and Jackson back in a month or more. The trade gives Atlanta a great contact hitter who has good power vs. Lefties along with Thames, and Toronto gets Heyward who will bat 5th and play RF moving Bautista to 3B. With a deadly lineup including the core of Bautista, Ramirez, Teixiera, and Heyward, Toronto will be contenders for a long time.

- Toronto Trades 3B Brandon Hicks, and RP Jesse Chavez to Minnesota for 3B Danny Valencia. Minnesota is going no where this year and wanted Hicks as a potential 5 hole 3B, along with young bullpen help in Chavez. Toronto gets Valencia who will get the majority of bats at DH, and will be the 1st man off the bench when Jackson/Jay are back.

Projected Lineup:
CF Domonic Brown
SS Hanley Ramirez
3B Jose Bautista
1B Mark Teixiera
RF Jason Heyward
2B Brett Lawrie
LF Matt Joyce
C JP Arencieba
DH Danny Valencia
-----------------------------
2B/SS Maicer Izturis
C Rod Barajas
OF Ezequiel Carrera
DL - Jon Jay (6 Days Left)
DL - Austin Jackson (18 Days Left)

At the break the Jays have a 26-3 record and are dominating the league. Bautista already has 12 HR and last season when he won the HR title he had 14. He is looking to destroy that mark this season. Bautista also leads every offensive category (see below).

Game 26: Blue Jays 10, Indians 0:
W: Romero (4-1) - 3IP 1H, 0ER, 4K
L: Luebke (3-1) - 2IP 9H, 8ER, 1BB
Blue Jays:
Brown - 1/4 2R, 2B, SB
Ramirez - 2/3 3RBI, 2R, 2-2B
Bautista - 3/3 3RBI, R, 2B
Freese - 1/2 R, BB, 2B
Lawrie - 1/2 2RBI, R
Arencieba - 1/3 R
Joyce - 1/3 RBI, R, 2B
Barajas - 1/2 HR(2), RBI, R, K

- Toronto destroys Cleveland behind 3 innings of 1 hit shutout ball from Romero and a bunch of runs. In the 1st, Bautista hit a RBI single, and Lawrie hit a 2-RBI single to make it 3-0. Next inning, Joyce hit a RBI double and Barajas a solo HR to make it 5-0. In the 3rd, Ramirez hit a bases clearing 3-RBI double, and Bautista hit a 2-RBI double to finish it at 10-0.

Game 27: Blue Jays 5, Yankees 0:

- The Jays get yet another shutout led by Beachy's 3 inning 2 hit effort. Brown led off the 1st with a solo HR to make it 1-0. In the 4th, Freese hit a 2-RBI triple, and Joyce scored him with a RBI single to make it 4-0. In the last inning Bautista hit a RBI single to make it 5-0 and that would be it.

Bautista - 1/2 HR(10), RBI, 2R
Freese - 1/2 R

- The Jays head in the break with a massive win streak and a nice win behind a 4.1 Inning 1 hit performance from Jimenez who has 7 wins on the year. First inning, Ramirez hit a solo HR, and Lawrie hit a RBI single to make it 2-0. In the 3rd Bautista hit a solo HR, and in the 4th he hit his 2nd HR of the game which was 2-Run HR to make it 5-0. Hunter hit a RBI single in the 5th and that would be it, 5-1 Jays.

With the trade deadline looming at the end of the month, management says that they don't expect any big deals. With Jon Jay back soon, we do expect to see Thames, moved with a player for another player which would be an upgrade at a position. The team has talked about getting a better contact/defensive catcher, so don't be suprised to see Thames/Arencieba dealt for a Catching upgrade. If any other moves, they will be minor as Toronto thinks they can win with this lineup

*Note: I will be increasing innings from 5 to 6*

1 Game before the All Star break, and we have a massive deal that shakes the AL East. Toronto sends 1B Ryan Howard, LF Ben Francisco, and an A Prospect SS to New York for 1B Mark Teixiera. The Yankees cannot keep up with Toronto and Boston and liked the fact of getting a nice power 1B along with young Ben Francisco and a prospect for their farm. Toronto wasn't getting the power out of Howard they needed from that 4 hole, and he was committing a lot of errors at 1st. They get a better hitter against righties and lefties, plus a better fielder and should be ready to bring home a title.

- Note: The team reported they would be making no more moves the rest of the season, unless it was some minor tweaking.
