Some people have tried to characterize the friction between Josh McDaniels and Jay Cutler as a battle of wills.
That's being way too generous -- to Cutler.
Cutler can threaten to stay away from the Denver Broncos' non-mandatory offseason conditioning program, which begins Monday. He can even skip their first mandatory minicamp, which begins April 17.

SAN DIEGO -- Chargers president Dean Spanos seemed to have the best perspective on the LaDainian Tomlinson saga.
"The alternative was just unthinkable. He belongs in San Diego," Spanos said after the Chargers and Tomlinson agreed to a reworked three-year contract late Tuesday.
L.T. feels the same way. That's because the alternative, of course, would have been for the star running back to be released had the sides not reached a deal. Even as talks dragged on and speculation mounted ... Read More

Andre Smith, one of the top offensive tackle prospects in this year’s draft, said he was relying on Alabama’s pro day to make up for the disappearing act he put on at the combine. Well, his times were not overly impressive, but he did at least work out.
Smith measured in at 6-foot-4 ¼, 325 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in 5.28 and 5.33 seconds. He had a 25-inch vertical, a 7-foot, 10-inch broad jump, a 7.88-second three-cone drill and 19 bench press reps at 225 pounds. His short shuttle ... Read More

Veteran cornerback Shawn Springs is the latest established veteran to join the New England Patriots, signing a three-year contract that could be worth up to $13 million with incentives. Springs reached the deal over the weekend and now will be reunited, sort of, with longtime nemesis Terrell Owens, who signed a one-year contract with AFC East foe Buffalo on Saturday.
Former Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks said Tuesday that he does not plan to retire and he has heard from several teams about possibly signing him.
Well the axes of finally been dropped and the Boys are free agent hunting
The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the Cowboys have signed free-agent safety Gerald Sensabaugh to fill a glaring need in the secondary. Sensabaugh was a fifth-round pick of the Jaguars in 2005 and started 13 games in 2008. Sensabaugh had 82 tackles and four interceptions. He has played mostly strong safety but started three games last season at free safety.

Dallas said the same thing at the beginning. I think he will have a great year. He usually does. Its just the extra drama that makes it seem like he is having a dismal year
WR Terrell Owens became the newest Buffalo Bill in a surprising move on Saturday. His new teammates in Buffalo can’t wait to get started after Owens signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract with the Buffalo Bills.

While the Chargers have cut off negotiations with RB LaDainian Tomlinson, a former teammate appears ready to do some recruiting if the running back decides not to return to San Diego. In an interview with XX 1090 AM in San Diego, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees expressed his desire to again play alongside Tomlinson, who was Brees’ teammate in San Diego for five seasons.

It's been almost two weeks since the Chargers and LaDainian Tomlinson's agent began the back and forth of a contract restructure for the iconic running back.
The back and forth is finished.
This is up to Tomlinson now. It's a matter of whether he wants to play for less money in San Diego.
Information is coming in this saga like water from a drippy faucet. But my understanding is that Tomlinson has the Chargers' final offer.
That offer could be for two years or three ... Read More
