Every year in each of the major team sports titles we go through this same thing. A big debate about whether its fun to control every team in your league or not. There actually is no correct answer. Because everyone has their own way of enjoying sports titles.

But the fact that so many people still get in these forums and scream about it should tell all the game developers something. And that something is this:

Yes!! There are a LOT of sports gamers who enjoy controlling ... Read More

The Southeastern Conference has decide NOT to offer an invite to Texas A&M. YES YES YES YES YES !!!!!!!!

I'm from Texas....but as a big time SEC fan.....I don't want Texas A&M in that conference.

With the exception of Texas and OU, I don't like the idea of any of the Big 12 schools moving to the SEC.

I heard an interesting topic on The Chris Arnold Show on sports talk radio here in Dallas today.... They were talking Rangers and one of the guys says "boy, Josh Hamilton would make a great linebacker."

First, I know....athletes are athletes and if they put their minds to it they could do whatever they want. Thats correct.

But just for kicks....based on size, speed, strength, ability, athleticism, intelligence and whatever else you can think of...what athlete could you ... Read More

Vince Young has called them a "dream team"........

ESPN's Sal Pal says the feeling around the league is "something special is happening in Philly"..........

And Cullen Jenkins says they "are the NFL's Miami Heat."

I'd be careful comparing my team to the Miami Heat. Because so far, at least after year one, that thing has been a failure based on the "championship or bust" expectations.

I'm sure neither of Miami's big three envisioned a season ... Read More

Pro athletes kill me today. They act as if we're not intelligent enough to know when someone has gotten ahold of them and advised them to do some damage control. To either keep their job or whatever it is they may have on the line.

How in the world can ANYBODY misunderstand or miscommunicate the words "if that man was on fire I wouldn't even piss on him. Thats how much I hate him?" Not to mention calling him a devil and the "F" word. (Speaking about the NFL Commissioner)

Every since I picked up NBA 2K11 last week I've been hearing and reading about how its the greatest sports game of this generation. That is, in fact a very good argument. I mean, most of the feedback centers around the fact that the game just feels so alive, like watching a real broadcast. Count me among those who agree with that. But, I can't give it the title all by its lonesome. I think MLB The Show is the co-champion.

Mavfan21 started a thread in the OS Madden forum about how he ... Read More

I watched UFC 113 last night and thought Kimbo looked old. Apparently Dana White did too.

When EA got the exclusive deal with the NFL, a lot of people cried foul. And rightfully so. I mean, who wanted NFL 2K5 to be the final edition of such a great game? And even though I liked Madden and had both, I didn't think it was cool that 2K fans HAD to either accept Madden or not play NFL football.

Then the NBA turned down an exclusive deal and said, "we want competition in our video games." And boy am I glad they did. I can't imagine what it would've been like being stuck with ... Read More

Even though my favorite sports team is a pro football team (Cowboys), my favorite sport is actually "college" football. There's just nothing in sports like the beauty and pageantry of Saturday afternoon college football.

That said...every July I'm on tip-toe anticipation for NCAA Football.

Then this year came. I recently got Fight Night 4 and its had me hostage ever since I popped it in. I never thought "boxing" could win me over again like this, but it has. Even to the ... Read More

The way these companies (especially EA and Sony) are starting to promote these games now is just terrific. They're starting early and giving us a lot of info. Then taking the feedback to help create the best game we all can collectively.

Months ago when I started reading bout how they were going to improve Fight Night, I thought...WOW! And the same goes for UFC. Except it wasn't really an "improvement" because this was really the first next-gen edition of MMA.

Now after ... Read More

If you're a versatile sports gamer like myself, maybe you can understand the frustration on these forums with certain sports games. Especially next-gen sports games. When we PS3 and X360 gamers bought our new machines, we were expecting sports games to almost leap out of our HDTV's.

Now some of you have been next-gen longer than I have. And I think its safe to say that some sports are on the way up. While some others...seem to be stuck in neutral.

Neutral meaning not ... Read More

Many are calling Sony's MLB The Show the best sports game franchise of today. While that point can be argued, it is indeed at least ONE of the very best games out. What really sets it apart is the attention to small detail which, combined...really brings the game to life.

Excluding gameplay, here are ten of those small details I hope we'll see (in some fashion) in Madden 10:

1. Better Crowd... The crowd really seems to understand the moment (in The Show). They ... Read More

Now before I start let me clear something up....I am not a Madden *****. In fact, I like Madden and think it was a big step forward this year. But.......

If you read around the forums here on OS you'll find a lot of gamers wishing that Madden would grab at least some of the ideas from either NFL 2K5 or MLB The Show.

Yes, football and baseball are different we know. But people normally are refering to the presentation, the super deep commentary, the great cutscenes, stadium ... Read More
