Absolutely ridiculous analysis. You look at a line in one particular neighborhood and assume that represents the full picture. Sample size, buddy. You're making way too many generalizations. To even begin this discussion, you should cite facts, not just say "there are numbers for this". Lol.

Anyone who understands anything about financial markets would realize the entire video game industry is in demise (sales-wise). Madden sales being down is far more symptomatic of the overall health of the industry, NOT THE MARKET SEGMENT THAT MAKES UP LESS THAN 6% OF THE U.S. POPULATION.

Please delete this mess of a blog. The sales are down for one reason, and one reason only. Madden has been a bad game for too long. Despite the fact that it is the only NFL game on the market, people are sick of paying to play the same lack of effort, year after year.

To anyone who was offended by my blog, I sincerely apologize. Once again, my intention was to analyze varying factors into why sales were declining from year to year. I have been gaming since Mario and Duck Hunt shared the same cartridge and my Everybody votes channel record is an astounding 105-42. In other words, to say that I know a thing or two about video games and public opinion is a gross understatement. I subscribe to Malcolm Gladwell's theory on tipping points and wanted to highlight a variable that may have gone unnoticed. Do I have the facts to back up this blog....Unfortunately the information is not available and that's why I chose to blog and state an opinion. Although a ton of gamers despise the Madden Franchise, I for one do not. My hope is that EA and their marketing muscle ran across this blog because what I do not want....above anything else, is a company like activation, or some start up company to out bid EA on the NFL exclusivity license or worse EA choosing not to renew. If I can help EA to make a better product, through increased sales, so be it. It isn't about controversy, it definitely isn't about demographic, and contrary to what clutchmasta said....it isn't about me. It's about sports video games. Because the simple fact of the matter is this........if Madden fails and slumps further in sales, it will rock the entire foundation of sports video gaming for years to come. And that isn't a good thing, unless you enjoyed wii sports.
