My MLB 10 The Show Season as the N.Y Yankees
I am playing every game of the 2010 season as the N.Y Yankees. I am playing at the default level with all the default settings. I tried to play season in the past but I usally get bored around 50 games in. I am using the opening day roster for the team. I'd like to finish the season by August 9. I'll be posting on my progress after ever series. UPDATE: My record 90-30 as of July 14, 2010

My Yankees beat the Rays 6-5. We were up 6-2 in the 8th the Rays put a came back and made it 6-5, but Rivera closed the door in the 9th. The second was a tough game against the Mets. I scored 1 run in the first inning and that was it. Phil Hughes pitched a shutout. To the Mets credit they killed any rally that I tried to start. The big rally killer was, with one out, Francoeur threw out Jeter trying to score from home. I didn't think Hughes could go the distance, but he did. He threw 115 pitches and ... Read More

Yesterday I tried to get the Gold HR derby trophy by hitting 29 hrs in a single round. I came close with Babe Ruth (26) at the old Yankee Stadium. I also used Arod (25) in the new Yankee Stadium. I did not adjust the sliders. I did not move the left stick. All I did was try to look for belt high pitches. The big problem I had with both guys was pulling pitches foul.I played for 2 hrs. I can see how this could become addictive, but my goal is to play one entire season as the current New York Yankees ... Read More

A lot has happened in my franchise, since I last blogged. I split a series with the Tigers 2-2. I won 2 of 3 from the Twins, and took 2 from the Red Sox. The last game I played was against the Rays. I won 6-3. Alex Rodriguez hit home run number 600. There was a really cool cutscene when he hit the homer. His teammates mobbed him at the plate and he took a curtain call. Mark Teixeira also hit his 250th homer against the Tigers. I posted a screen shot of my current record in my Albums. I will be up****** ... Read More

The Yankees have won 4 straight since the CC has been injured. They beat Baltimore (7-4,15-2),and beat Chicago (6-2,6-3). The root cause of this success had really been that I've been patient at the plate. I mean during the winning streak I've hit Hrs with Cervelli and Bret Gardner. I didn't do anything special (normal swing,no hit influence) just checked the pitch history and place the PCI in areas where the pitcher were frequently throwing to. Like I've stated earlier in my blog I have everything ... Read More

After taking a day off from the game, I decided to continue my season (Which is actually a franchise) as the N.Y Yankees and I put CC Sabathia on the 60 Day DL. He should be back in Mid-June. I brought up Kei Igawa from the minors to be my 5th starter for the time being. I'd like to thank Flipsyde933 for the good advice. As promised this decision is being announced after the Series finally of "24".

Friday evening I went out to Youtube and watched videos of MLB 10 the show being unboxed. The young and old all opening there games for the first time, and it reminded me of the day I got the game myself. It reminded me that MLB 10 the show is the most realistic video game going. So with me new found enthusiasm I was continuing my season as the the Yankees.
I took 2 of 3 from the L.A. Angels, and Teixiera started heating up. I win the first game against Baltimore and I'm feeling good. Then ... Read More

I lost the first 2 games to the Texas Ranger. Last game I held onto in the last game 6-4. I played 3 games last night and I started the last game at 9:15 P.M. keeping to my not starting games after 10 P.M. I was upset about the 2 loses. So I downloaded the MLB 2K10 demo. I am considering getting it. I mean MLB 10 has much better graphic and is definitely more of a sim, but man the game is hard. I mean I've been playing at the default level since March and the game has not gotten any easier. Maybe ... Read More

In a tight 1-1 game where Phil Hughes pitched 6 good innings. Nick Johnson broke the game open with a 2 out 2 double in the 7th. Mark Teixiera hit and 2 out down later in the inning to make the game 5-1. Dave Robertson and Damaso Marte closed it out. Next up the Texas Rangers in for 3 games.

The Yanks lost 4-1. Good pitching performance for the most part by Vasquez 9-K, but he gave up a 3-Run Hr in the 6. I don't dwell on loses, so that it for that game. I will talk today about the youthful feel I think the National League has. I think for some reason their teams have a younger feel even though they are the senior league. The NL uniforms are brighter and more youth full. I don't know why to me the NL seams like a young person league and the AL seams like an old persons league. I am ... Read More

Alex Rodriquez had a big night. He Lead the Yankee attack with 3 HRs. Robinson Cano and Jorge Posada also hit HR's. Andy Pettite could could not find a the release point on his cutter and change-up and gave up 4 HR also. At one point the Yankees were up 9-3, but their pitching last night was not so hot. I tried to include a screen shot of Player of the game A-Rod,but the png file was too large. I'll try adding it to the big plays link.

I didn't play Any games this weekend. I was going to play on Sunday but after watching the Real Yankees get beat by the Twins on grand slam off of Rivera I knew I would be to angry to lose a game that day. Two Games planned for Today. I also have to edit the player for walk up and HR music since the next game will be their first home game.

Yankees hit 0 hr the Rays hit 4. Robby Cano supplied the power with a 2 run double and a 2 run triple. He was the Player of the the game. This marks the first game where I did not use the guess Pitch type/location option. I got 14 hits, but no HRs. I keep telling myself that the real A-rod and the real Tex did not start heating up until May. The weekend I'll try to play 4 games we'll see what happens. See ya Monday.

The Tampa Bay Rays took a 2-0 lead on a 2 run HR in the 3rd inning. They tacked on on more in the 5th. The Yankees got within 1 in the 7th. The big problem last night is I left 12 on base. I be taking some batting practice today with Tex, Arod, Jeter and Cano.
Tried to play next game. It was tied in the 9th when Cano came to bat and the game froze. I called it a night.

I have to be honest. I find the MLB 2K10 commercials much more entertaining than the single MLB 10 the Show commercial that run on TV. I mean the 2K10 commercials have a serveral good young players kidding around with each other, talking a little trash all I think in a good natured way. They put in Game play footage to match their conversations. MLB 10 The show just has the one commercial with Joe Mauer and the actor playing the weird Sony exec. It's kinda dull. This post is not about game play ... Read More

I beat the Red Sox last night by a score of 8-3. Brett Gardner was picked as player of the game for going 3-4 and scoring Three Runs. Record 2-1. Next game was against the Rays. I won it 4-1. Big hits in that game were two HR in the 1st. One by Tex and One by Jeter. Winning pitcher Javier Vasquez. He was also the player of the game. 7 strong inning 1 earned run.
