NBA Live 18 News Post

The first off-screen NBA Live 18 screenshot has been revealed, via Chris Denker. By the looks of it, NBA Live 18 was shown to a select few (some of them had their face scanned into the game), so we might hear some details come from it soon.

Yeah they do. It's funny though because comments on YouTube and twitter are saying the screenshot is trash. I don't know what they are looking at.

I was thinking the same. The crowd looks different too. I wonder if they were scanning the youtubers to put them in the crowd?

I do find it interesting that they skipped a year to make a better game that says a lot. Even though I am a baseball fan more than basketball and currently playing NBA 2k17.

LeBron's standing like a robot (and he's huge). Makes me think when you put this game in motion it'll be terrible...again.

They did not skip a year by choose, the game was not ready to be released last year, from this photo lighting looks good, sweat looks good and the crowd look great. Player models was always live strenght, and with players getting scanned for a few years now as long as they are not created players they will look fine. It all comes down to gameplay.

Meh...I like Lives graphics and it's never been an issue for me. I want to see the animations of the game and how much work they put in to that area.

I'm actually more excited for Live this year than the other game. My excitement would escalate more when they say it's coming to PC!

They're running frostbite like Madden this year?

I'm guessing they took a year off to implement Frostbite as the engine. I'd be a little disappointed if they didn't.

Here come the overreactions from both sides, "best player models ever, game is going to be awesome" and "wtf this is awful, game is going to suck".

This is nothing. Not good nor bad. Nothing. I want gameplay with 720p quality at the very least before I judge the game.

I thought Live wasn't transitioning to frostbite this year.

Lebron is too big, Live players are always too muscular.

Nice looking screenshot, but for the first time in my life I don't care about a game's graphics. It's not going to look any worse than Live 16 (good looking game), so anything in that area and above is more than enough for me.

Live has been a screenshot-masterpiece for years (except for Live 14), so 99% chance you are going to see great looking screenshots every year.

Spoiler

LeBron looks good. Hard to tell with Bradley him being kinda blurry and all. Looking forward to seeing what they have to offer though.

I could handle NBA live 95 graphics if it played worth a darn...a must buy for me since it will be fresh and new. 2k has been stale this year....screenshot does look decent tho....have bought both games since both were introduced and as I've always said, if they combined both games into one? Man that would be a great game

Something about they player models in Live has looked off to me for years. They get the build right in terms of bodies and size, which is where 2K struggles, but the body parts seem so much less human. Like more polygonal whereas 2K's seem to have more natural curvature and muscle definition Live looks like Lego men. It seems better here, but I still get that Bioncle vibe lol.

EA should drop the LIVE series and shift it's focus to Fight Night.
