Looking forward to story mode. The uniforms, like the jersey, still defy gravity and physics. Brady's arm coming out of the tunnel of the video looks like popeye.

Player models in the trailer look like this...

Here is a photo of Tom someone took from the trailer

and here is that brady pic

The player models in the trailer do not look anything like that. You watch the trailer and know its a video game. That pic is photo realistic. Look at that level of detail and say those are the same game

I know that they didn't have any of the new helmets, but they did debut the new cleats/sleeves

This isn't true at all. The first look trailer last year had at least the new gloves, cleats, and their version of the shooter sleeve.

As exciting as it is, I am just hoping for a "rebirth" with franchise mode.

I remember when Madden 15 released, and Richard Sherman was on the cover.Their big push was a new and improved defense. We for sure got it with a defensive overhual.

Madden 16 had Odell Beckham, and with that we saw new catch animations, and an over used aggresive catch feature installed.

Madden 17 had Gronk. I really don't know the tie to that and the features they put in the game honestly.

Madden 18 has Tom Brady. I am hoping that this means they are pushing for a revitalized franchise mode/ legacy mode. I know they have added a story mode where I am sure the idea is going to be to "Chase Greatness". However I am hoping that we see some kind of progressive change to Franchise mode.

Well at least Brady will look good this year. His player model was always jacked up. He was hideous.

And the computer will retire him after one year. Hope full player editing is available again! I plan to play Brady 2-3 more seasons in Madden 18.

Not only is it a sucky animation, it's a pretty old one. Just not a great pick for a teaser trailer. That brown catch was.....well it looked nice, but it was pretty damn crazy. That would be the catch of the season if it happened irl
Animations are big. You can have the most photorealistic visuals in the world but if the animations aren't lifelike and look robotic then it kills the believability. Animations haven't been madden, or EAs, strong suit. I know this is an extremely short clip but already it looks like animations are the same. I would think if they had an overhaul, or atleast improvements in this area, they would want to show them of right away.

It's far from game breaking. Last year's madden was my favorite madden of all time, and I'm not a big madden guy, so this game can be great even if the animations dont see a big update. It would just be disappointing to see the actual visual improved without the animations getting the same attention.

Madden is an ugly game in motion.

The story mode does zero for me either. Never liked it in a football game. Players don't play offense and defense like baseball, basketball or soccer. Even the skill players of the offense don't get enough touches to make the mode interesting to me with the qb being the only exception.

I haven't bought madden in years. Very unlikely I come back this year based off this trailer.

The only comment i disagree with is the Elliot picture. I think we have all seen instances in real life where a defender attempts to make a tackle only to come up with air because of a juke/spin move by the ball carrier. It might be uncommon but not unrealistic.

I do agree with the concern about football IQ and the animations overall. I thought last year the IQ was better and animations weren't horrible but these are still areas the madden should improve on. There are still frustration situations where the problems show their ugly face and take you out of the experience.

Wow the screen looks great. Took me a minute to realize it wasn't real. Is that taken from the trailer?

Interesting decision to show the sidelines empty. Just a work in progress thing? Don't want to give up the addition of Coordinators yet?

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed that there was nothing big enough for Franchise to promote it early on. We'll probably get the "save the best for last" lines again

This is looking like FIFA 17 all over again. The lighting and environments being improved but the player models and animations being exactly the same as previous years. I always thought that changing engines meant complete overhaul. I guess that's not the case according to EA.

Did you play FIFA? I've put in 500 hours this year and 650 last year. Animations are 100% different on the new engine. Gameplay is nothing like that it was in F16.

The Elliot clip is more noticeable as the clip than a screen. It just doesn't look normal.
Elliott's leg fully extended in a spin move while the defender watches it in amazement instead of making a tackle.

I grew up watching Barry Sanders embarrass the packers with unbelievable moves. It's not that the defender gets faked out of his shorts that bothers me so much as how it plays out like a bad movie instead of something you witness in an actual game.

Graphically speaking, I wish they wouldn't spend so much time on exterior shots and story mode cutscenes, and primarily focus on how the game looks when you're playing. Lighting looks better, player models slightly. But I was hoping for a big upgrade with player models and uniforms. It's still super early, but it looks like a slight upgrade in gameplay graphics. That last cut scene outside ofnlucas oil looked incredible, and so did ext shot of Heinz.

Meh story mode just isn't what I was hoping for...

Personally I hate story modes in sports games. Just doesn't make sense to me to play a mode that would be super interesting for one season and after that the mode goes super vanilla with no cutscenes, no immersion etc.

Hence why I just never could get into my player in NBA 2K.

And this coming from an annual Road to the Show player...the only reason I buy The Show. And personally I feel with MLB The Show 17 that Sony San Diego thought of the bigger picture and instead of going the bull**** route that will be very easy to market and get lots of publicity and public interest like FIFA 17's and most likely what this story mode will be as well...they tried to incorporate cutscenes in such a way that it remains your story and will forever be part of the mode...not just 1 season.

I've got zero interest in playing someone else's story...the main draw of these type of modes is because I want to take a younger version of myself on a great career of 'what if's'...just can't do that playing with someone else.

It's early, but let's hope gameplay has been improved and more importantly franchise mode. Might just skip this year...
