It's not just online and the fact that "well just play offline" is being parroted over and over does nothing to educate people about the actual state of the game and in turn is going to screw over people who buy the game at a premium right now.

The experience you gain while playing any game mode online or offline is being reset so if you played 100 offline games since launch you lost everything you earned. People's EXP are being reset multiple times this week, I personally had it reset three times. Someone on Facebook said their just reset for the 6th time yesterday.

The game is freezing during offline games or just erroring out and going back to the main menu, even people in the batting practice part of the game have reported freezing.

The main menus in the game, not the online portion, have taken over 30 minutes to change.

These are not isolated cases, it's not like what we see 6 months in that someone is having something wonky happen in their game. These are widespread problems that are happening to many people. As I said before these problems are being brought up not only here but social media and other gaming sites.

When I say the game is broken I mean the game is broken. The offline has problems and the online has problems. Now maybe every single problem is caused by the servers and when that's fixed they all go away, that would be swell.
If the game is broken what the hell did I play and enjoy all day Saturday?

For me The Show is always a buy. However, I would never vouch for it to anyone else. Especially someone who has played past iterations.

Maybe it has to do with the modes I choose, or the difficulty, or the controls I use. Point is, I'd feel awkward telling someone the game is awesome when there are so many variables involved with human expectations regarding sports games.

That all being said, if you've loved the past Shows unconditionally, this year's is a safe bet. If you've maybe gotten bored with the series, then I'd suggest a rental first.

The new ball physics and, tons and animations and the amazing graphical upgrade makes this feel like a whole new game.

If that does not convince you, look at it this way : go a night on the town, you will spend way more money and the next morning it's all gone (ok besides great memories and a hangover).
Paying around 50 bucks for a game that i will be playing for months sounds like a great deal to me.
I need to use this analogy when people try and say video games are dumb or question why I enjoy playing them lol

You can still do this? I thought they shut the servers down.

I would say buy. I get it every year and is the main reason I got PS4. I do see the improvements but they are very minor as always but has very few flaws

To update a previous post where I said wouldn't buy right away because $60 was a bit too much for my budget, I just purchased a copy on E-Bay for $40 so I'm all in! It was disc only but most sports games have no re-sell value so not having the case is no biggie for me.

I really enjoyed the graphical improvements of 16 with lighting and stuff and am only in August of my franchise mode. I want to play 17, but I will be waiting until it gets to $39.99 (Canadian) before I pick it up.

First year since 2010 that I didn't buy day one.

I haven't played a baseball game since the early Xbox 360 days. Maybe even PS2 days. For me, would you recommend 17 or grab 16 for $20 bucks and download a roster file?
