In manage mode unless they fix the problem with balls hit down the foul lines curving foul and infield defense being overpowered for the first time in the series going back to the ps2 I have to say no- not a buy. The only reason to buy is to ensure the series continues but that is a flimsy reason.

In 8 games played 5 games my team had 4 or fewer hits including a no hitter and a 1 hitter.

Other modes I can't speak for.

if you are a baseball gamer you have to buy it...some of those "cons" seem nit picky...i can definitely see those trades happening, cmon guys.

As a franchise only guy I would definitely recommend people wait before buying. With the playoff pitching stamina still not being fixed, horrible frame rate at times, immense Maggie's and other graphical glitches, and other issues in franchise that have not been fixed, it's hard for me to tell people to go out and buy the game right now.

Definitely a buy. If you're a sports gamer, you owe it to yourself to own this game just based off the amount of options & depth alone. Its probably the best all around sports game to date (minus some annoying bugs like lighting glitches, etc..) & I'm not even a huge baseball fan. However with that said, I will not be purchasing another MLB the show until they add Player Physics. They got the ball physics in so now it's time for real time player physics. That's the final frontier for them. Get er done SCEA!

In the NBA, the best center in the league recently got traded for basically dinner at Pizza Hut.

We no longer have any right to call any trade whatsoever "unrealistic" or "not sim."

The game is currently very broken, why are so many people recommending it?

Honeymoon stage. Remember the same thing happening with 2k17.

Good grief, just because a game has a few minor problems, that means the game is "very broken?"

Are you ever happy?

Final Fantasy 6 had bugs out the wazoo, some of which could break or crash the game.
It's regarded as one of the greatest RPGs ever made.

By doing a very exact series of controller inputs in Kirby's Adventure, you can trigger the end credits in about 20 seconds.
Is that game "very broken?"

And then there's Super Mario 64...and Stryker7x's videos on Paper Mario...

If this game is very broken, then literally everything in my life is very broken.

I definitely understand why people are unhappy. Online functionality is definitely underperforming so far and there are other bugs/glitches/oddities.

I think there are quite a few positives as well though

By this point last year my honeymoon period had elapsed. I had seemingly bug happen that could happen and I couldnt get passed it.

This year iv'e seen quite a number of bugs as well but I just dont care. Not even a little. Everything about this game just feels so much more polished and authentic. The hit variety and ball physics are mind blowingly good. The graphics are so good that I constantly see cut scenes that could fool me from thinking this is a video game.

Obviously the fact that ive dedicated alot of time in making sounds of the show packs the fact those are a disaster is a bit of a bummer but really thats my only real gripe. Thats saying alot for me.

I guess it's a buy if you have $60 lying around to blow. With absolutely no new key features of note (the 'play the moment' feature does not interest me in the slightest) there's just not enough added features for those on a tight budget to go out and make the purchase. It looks like a tighter overall presentation and a game I will look to pick up when it goes down in price but laying down the money equivalent to 2.5 full tanks of gas on something that's so similar to last year is not something I want to do.

Ball physics alone makes this game completely different from last years game.

From what I've seen it looks like a nice improvement, but it's just not enough for me to shell out 60 for it. With the way that PS4 sports games go down in price these days, I can probably pick it up for $20 on E-Bay by June. Also, I'm a franchise only guy so I can't start up a new franchise until 3-4 weeks after launch because of the time consuming effort that the OSFM takes. The guys that do OSFM are amazing to even get it out as quick as they do but it's something that prevents a lot from starting up franchise for a while.

I'm gonna be playing this game for months, and I can honestly see it holding my interest for a whole entire year...so it seems worth the price.

The new ball physics really do make it feel like a much different (and much better) game. When you think about how crucial physics are to the game of baseball, it's a huge deal.

That combined with the new MLB Network presentation and I'm in baseball heaven.

EDIT:

Just saw your other post. Yeah, if you can wait for the price to drop to better suit your budget then that makes sense.

If you bought 16 then I'd say no

If you skipped 16 then I'd say it's a Buy

Fair enough. You have your priorities straight. When money is tight filling the gas tank is more important than playing a video game. I'm a bit jealous that for $60 you get 2.5 tanks of gas. My last fill up was $120.

Ken Griffey Jr is on the cover and in the game. Right there is enough for me. All the other improved things like graphics, gameplay, commentary, new modes and so much more are icing on the cake.

One of the best, if not the best sports game out there. Definitely a buy
