The only things that has me a bit concern right now (I know WIP) is the drop balls on plays we saw just during this video. Especially on the throw out to second, since it has been reworked

The camera on batted balls looks so good, the flight of the ball is so smooth as well. Almost looks night and day.

The ball physics are "lit" as the kids say.

To add a couple things; If you watch this video in 1080p the graphics changes are amazing. So much more detail on the players.

Lighting looks great as well.

I honestly couldn't be more excited for this game.

Agreed.

Not to take anything away from the ball physics (they're game changing in their own right) - but it's also amazing what a difference a new camera can make. Last year it was the hitting cam, and now this year with the 'Retro Mode' fielding cam, really breaths so much new life into the game.

Is it just me do the outfields look larger than before or maybe the presentation is different ?

I was wondering if that was the retro mode fielding cam, but noticed it wasn't the retro batting cam. That's so awesome we can use the retro fielding cam without the batting cam.

Pretty sure that will be my go to fielding cam.

I am just trying to say for a very long time here at OS so many including me have complained about the plays at second being bang bang and just way to close with even above average runners when balls are hit down the line and into the corners especially right field.

Do you guys not think this is even an issue?

We would just like this issue to be fixed.
I think the plays at second base being too close is more due to the fielders sprinting to play the ball off the wall, wherein real life, a lot of corner outfielders will just concede the double and jog over to field the ball and throw it back into the infield.

Yes and no, I talked about it here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...tfielders.html

I think the OF is not displaying the same Humanity AI that the IF is. I think they "get to the ball" in the right amount of time, but they tend to fire the ball at the base the runner is running to rather than hitting the cutoff man.

The CPU should "concede" more doubles essentially in my opinion.
The problem is more with balls in the corner, and not balls in the gap.

But there are sliders for reaction time, fielder speed, and arm strength....
So since we are all just stating our opinions, we have the tools to fix what we think is wrong.

By no stretch is the game broken, we would just like to see it interpreted differently and for minor adjustments like these is why sliders exist.

True, but according to the stream they are still balancing stuff out, it's far from finished.

You're right, it is a WIP. If this is the same build they showed us in the gameplay stream 12 days ago, they said during that that they were still balancing the error ratio (Chris at 22:20 of this video).

And we know Ramone is traveling with a 2 week old build.

The errors really stood out to me too (in both the stream and this video), that's why I'm clearing the air on this.

Mildly OT:

BTW, this video confirms something I expected, but am still bummed about - no VR integration this year. If there was one thing that would make me run out and buy PSVR it would have been functionality with this series. I still have no games to look forward to for that peripheral (RE doesn't interest me), and thus absolutely no reason to purchase it.

Maybe next year as Ramone said, but at this rate will VR even still be a thing by the time '18 comes out?

Would love to see at least a home run derby edition on VR for next year, but again, 9 months is all they have to work with.

1,000 New Animations!

If anything I am praying for a high five in one of those new 1,000 animations added!

In the videos shown I have seen runners crossing home plate and tapping their helmets only to walk right by the next guy in the batters box and dugout like nothing happened! Since MLB 14 on PS4!

If there are high fives for things like moving over a runner and bunt sacrifices. I will get a little excited players are still leading off the same (based on video shown) add personality to that it will help make the game for more dynamic instead of scripted!

But I am still hoping for player locked defensive improvements!

I can't see it good on a pc, can someone explain what the retro fielding cam looks like? If it's what I hope it'll be, I'm pumped! Does it follow the flight of the ball, like if we hit a homer into the upper deck, you see it all the way?

I believe yes. think (oldschool) RBI baseball when it comes to retro mode. (x) does everything hitting, pitching, throwing. and yes the camera follows the ball.

I was thinking this same thing. This is a good thing as they always seemed small to me.

It's just the perspective they've always been scaled correctly based on the size of the players.

It's sort of pulled back and a bit top-down, so it follows the ball very well from contact. It's probably the closest the game has had to a broadcast fielding camera in the way it's positioned.

The HR I remember seeing did follow the ball completely and looked great, though I'm not sure what, if any, impact their HR cam will have (hopefully none).

Oh man, I'm soooo excited right now!! I've always wanted that classic cam aca ASB05, World Series baseball. I don't know about you guys, but nothing felt better than seeing your ball settle into the upper deck, aftera long battle at the plate.
