MLB The Show 17 Video - The Little Things: Expanded Sounds of the Show & More

GameStop has just posted another MLB The Show 17 MLB Monday. This is part 1 of The Little Things.

Below are some of the details, but make sure to check out the full video here.
  • The Metrodome, Shea Stadium and Yankee Stadium make their PlayStation 4 debuts.
  • Critical Situations looks like it could be similar to Madden NFL 17 Play the Moment...? (We will find out more details later)
  • Challenge of the Week has a new scoring system and more prizes this year.
  • Keuchel's Korner, Sunny Siders, The 7 Line and the local military at Petco are in.
  • Over 500 Diamond Dynasty cards will be released throughout the season, most are new.
  • Double sounds of the show music slots from 512 to 1024.
  • Sounds of the Show adds additional home run and run score music slots.
  • Sounds of the Show pitching music works for starting pitcher intros and relief pitcher entrances.

The only issue with framerate and sots i had last year was when the strikeout music cued it caused a hiccup in the framerate.

The double the slits really allows us to add what we need for the packs which is awesome. Also its nice that pitcher music will finally matter for starters.

Yes It's not the real chick Chick-fil-A sign but obviously they cant use that.

I been asking for a fake sign for the foul pole for years now so happy to finally see them added fake or not

I have to say these guys really seem to be on a roll this year as far as the stadium updates. It gives me high hopes that Citizens Bank Park may have finally got a lot of love this year!!!
I noticed in a video somewhere that Dodger stadium had the red fly emirates(well it didn't say emirates but they made it look like the real thing) on the foul pole

Happy to hear about the expanded SOTS, but I was really hoping for some "generic music in ballpark" slots. Would love to be able to plug in 15-20 songs for a stadium, and let those randomly shuffle between innings for the innings that don't have a specific song to play.
All you need to do is load 20 or more songs into your game and you can do it yourself.

Can you set them up to play at random inning breaks? (I'm legitimately asking - I didn't think you could, but I wouldn't swear that I haven't just been missing it all this time )

I know that you can plug in specific songs to play at certain mid-innings, or end of innings, but I didn't think that you could have them randomly play.

What I'm thinking is that you could load 20 songs in for each stadium, and for one game "Song A" may play at the end of the 5th inning, but then for the next game "Song A" may play in the middle of the 8th inning, and then for a third game, "Song A" may not play at all. Does that make sense?

Ramone,

Can you tell us if the year to year saves is now only carried over through cloud saves or is the old way still in where it recognizes the previous year's save file? Just want to get some clarity on this.

I know it's a long shot but would be nice to still use Vita and keep transferring back and forth between 17 on PS4 and The Show on Vita

Ughh, home screen for franchise is still a disappointment. 4 pretty useless widgets on the main screen, why can't they hit me with what is going on in the league.

Can anybody tell if Carlos Martinez has a face scan? My video was too grainy to tell.
Looks like both CMart & Grichuk got some attention. Carlos was closer, looks to me like his scan is in, only basing that off of his 'profile' as I couldn't tell for sure. Even if it was done based off of no scan, the new head rig, facial hair and profile (even from afar) still look tons better.

Not sure if anything has changed in 17 but have never liked how it never shows the top few hitters for each team along with the pitchers stats when it shows the game results in the League Update section.

The loading screens before the games are normally much more what I'd want on my home screen. Standings, opposition lineups and averages, performance over the last month (we really should be able to check that any time btw) and all those sorts of things.

I don't need sponsorships on the homepage, you never change it once you've set them, so they shouldn't be wasting space, same for finances, they should just have a finance tab with that stuff on and use the home page for more day to day stuff like news, results and the like.

YES! Not only that, but i watched the Facebook livestream Q & A with Ramone answering questions. I heard that they worked really hard to get ALL the teams uniforms they wear in the game. Im anxiously waiting to find out if the Braves Red uniforms will be added this year, a uniform The Show has left out for the past 2 or 3 versions. I like throwbacks, but one home and one road throwback is enough if they can get our Red unis back im happy! I like the blue road jerseys, but the rwd ones are great!

Kind of surprised the Kingdome has not been mentioned as a Classic Stadium, seeing that is where Griffey played the majority of his games.
