Madden NFL 18 on the Frostbite Engine: Reactions

Earlier this week, EA announced that Madden was moving over to the Frostbite Engine. In the long run, this will likely be a pretty positive move for the franchise. The Frostbite engine has shown a lot of promise since its inception. However, some OS staffers have some worries about this upcoming year of Madden. No, I'm not saying the engines are the same. The exact opposite actually. The quote I posted eludes to Frostbite is a huge reason The Journey was possible. But Fight Night has a similar mode that was on 360 on an entirely different engine. It's not the engine that creates that kind of stuff. That's just straight up coding and time. The engine helps polish it and gives it life.

It may allow greater physics capabilities and things of that nature, but it's not going to make or break an entire game mode
