Madden NFL 17 News Post

When playing a franchise mode in any sports game, players often spend much more time navigating menus than on the field playing the actual game. Whether it’s adjusting depth charts, reviewing box scores, catching up on league news, or scouting next year’s crop of draft prospects, the quality of user-interface elements in franchise mode can go a long way in determining how fun -- or frustrating -- it can be.

Let’s take a look at seven areas where EA can make positive steps towards building a better experience outside of the lines in franchise mode.

NHL and FIFA have the best franchise UI. Maddens is a total mess. Also, I hate dark menus, would be great if we could change background.

Also, I was checking out the OS stream last night when Mill was playing NHL17 and really loved the way their franchise mode was set up. Looks very clean. I've never played it so I can't speak to how fast it is but I really like the way it looks and is laid out. Not perfect but far better than Madden's IMO.

Say this is what is needed as well as a more realistic injury system that is kontact based. And the need a better format for awards it should say the year and how many times it was won..As well and the game will have us all stuck on playing in a Franchise mode..

It's been an issue of mine for some time that what's going on in the rest of the league is virtually unknown. How about a feature with scoring updates of other key games (with visual updates). Also, how about mention of playoff scenarios (including game commentary) in the course of a game?

IMO they desperately need to fix their stat-tracking/filtering issues. There are literally so many little issues. A linebacker is credited for a safety on my player stats screen but in the NFL league leaders stat page he doesn't even show up. AFC/NFC players are missing from the entire NFL page constantly.

If they can do that, completely overhaul the player stats screen where we can see better game-by-game results (complete with week/opponent, etc.) and better yearly stats (complete with team played for, etc.) and flesh out the league history some for a change (still no Super Bowl champions list in 2017????) then I'll be ecstatic.

The funny thing is that a lot of these problems were fixed in old versions of Madden but have been missing from current iterations (among a myriad of other cool features that EA has removed over the years like assistant coaches, Senior Bowl, Create-a-stadium, etc.).

The player stat cards need some drastic improvements. In the past, you could see what teams that player played for, game by game stats, how the team acquired him, and detailed history of past awards/accomplishments.

Now, without the individual opponents listed, the season stats provide little to no context. How did EA regress in its franchise news coverage from the cool Sports Illustrated/ESPN weekly magazines in the early NCAA ps2 games to an entire page of useless tweets organized like a spam folder?

How many times have we heard from EA, "This upcoming Madden will have the most immersive franchise mode ever"? 2k had a freaking Sportscenter weekly highlight show for their NFL game which was released almost 13 years ago! In 2017, Madden keeps players "immersed" in franchise mode by having to sort through a bunch of spam like tweets to find stories.

And why are the teams only referred to as their mascot in the standings, stats, and most other areas in franchise mode? Would it kill them to include their full proper title? It's "New York Jets" and "San Francisco 49ers", not "Jets" and "East Rutherford Jets" or "49ers" and "Santa Clara 49ers".

1 more thing:
Why can't I just play other team's weekly games without having to create a new user? Its just frustrating having to create a new user to play another team's game and then having to retire that coach/owner when you're done playing that game. Also, you can't play a team's weekly game unless you have taken over that user a week before. Plus, you're not able to pick your opponent's jersey combo if you've taken over control of that team. This is extremely frustrating when you play the Rams where the home and away jerseys have been flip flopped for some weird reason. Therefore, I end up with a game where both teams are wearing their home jerseys or vice versa both wearing their away jerseys.

Can we please have what team a player played for when looking at their career stats? Should be included and for the life cannot understand why it isn't

All I want on the home screen is to be able to see the box score of my games and may e if not to much the other games. Does anybody else find it ridiculous that u have to go to the schedule menu the to your teams schedule just to get a box score. And if im doing it wrong could somebody please enlighten me.

Player cards need a huge improvement. Now it is just lame.

Player cards should be a players resume sheet. A list of their accomplishments and everything they have done.
