Yeah......it has gotten more and more hyperbole and negative over the last few years (especially since the jump to PS4).

I expect a great game as always. The one thing I can always count on in console sports gaming is MLB The Show. Even though I am expecting marginal improvements for MLB The Show 17, my hope is some legacy issues will be resolved and some things like the incessant amount of foul pop outs to the catcher resulting in outs (seriously it feels like very catcher in the league is an all-star defensive giant), the incredible amount of broken bats, and some of the still too lazy fielding animations and lack of urgency on slow rollers etc will be addressed.

MLB 16 was easily gameplay wise the very best yet. I am sure it will get better.

When the game drops, I will be here with my impressions as always and feedback to the outstanding development team from Sony San Diego. Whip up a nice All-Star slider set, and transfer over my two franchises and all my rosters....and off we go into the sunset for the next 12 months till 18 drops.

Rinse and repeat for me. The Show is my go to sports game bar none.

I think most of us are on the same wavelength, The Show is our favorite sports game series and we know that this dev team will come through no matter what. It may not always be what we were expecting, but every new version of The Show is still the best game out there.

And the devs are still pretty engaging on OS, especially around the release date. I've seen at least one of my suggestions implemented and I didn't think I'd ever be able to say that about a video game.

100% agree. I have been able to engage and talk with the team and was successful in getting something changed for 15 (that was implemented on 14) and it has stuck. They are very approachable and really love what they do. And they listen.

Ugh. The new year always symbolizes that the game will be out soon, time is in slow motion waiting for this release. I grew up on Griffey, so I think this year's version mean that much more to me.

Officially pre-ordered the MVP edition in the PSN store as it really wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. Only £5 more for a few free bits to get started seems fair enough, just itching to play now!

So I pre-order '17 Digital Deluxe yesterday and am surprised to find 11,000 stubs waiting to be redeemed in '16 when I start the game last night!

I don't want stubs in '16, I want them in '17!

I haven't redeemed them. I asked on the official forums and the one reply said they wouldn't show up in '17. Has anyone else experienced this?

Part of pre-ordering it digitally bonus is you get 11,000 stubs for MLB 16. They aren't going to show up in 17.

Been torn between Digital Deluxe and MVP Edition.

I enjoy Diamond Dynasty, I play it often enough for me to want a lot of packs and mission starting cards. But I do not enjoy playing Online that much (due to cheesers and wifi issues). I played Conquest a lot the first month waiting for OSFM but after completing it the first time, there was no incentive to play it again.

And I found myself really putting a lot of time and effort into my main RTTS and Franchise in '16.

I am waiting for the DD Twitch stream to see what kind of Offline Mode was added and then making my decision. I want an Offline mode that is replayable with different rewards each time.

On the Twitch Schedule, DD day said Programs, Seasons and Missions 2.0.

I'm very curious to see what Seasons are. Hoping that to be an Offline replayable mode for me. Then I'd invest in the Digital Deluxe package.

I'm super excited for this year's release. I have a question for the veteran DD online players. '16 was my first year playing DD online and I don't know which version will be the best for someone who only plays DD online. Is it better to purchase the standard edition and use $40 to purchase stubs to buy players on the market or purchase one of the versions that sell for $99? Thanks for the help.

• 1 MLB[emoji768] The Show[emoji769] 17 Gold Season Starter Pack (includes Mission starter for Gold Item)
• 1 Digital Deluxe Pack
• 1 Sponsor Pack
• 20 Standard Packs
• 31 PS4 Themes

Just ordered standard on Amazon, $47.99. Thank you Amazon.. This game like every year is going to be awesome. I am so giddy about this.. I might just retire and play this game all day.

Where'd you get that from because when I looked at it I specifically remember it being only for 16?

That's from the pre-order page on PSN: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-...BTHESHOW17DGDL

I do now see a note about the stubs for '16 so it looks like it is indeed both! Exciting!

That description is confusing haha. So the top paragraph you get for preordering? And the bottom one is stuff you get with the digital deluxe no matter what?

You get 11,00 stubs for 16 and 17. You aren't going to see your 11,000 stubs in 17 until you actually get the game, but as part of the pre-order bonus it includes 11,000 in stubs for 16.

I'm a big FIFA fan and their version of "Seasons" is an online promotion/relegation mode where you play up to 10 games and need a certain amount of points to either stay in that division, get promoted or win the league title.

I could see it being similar for DD... You have to win a certain amount of games to stay in your division until you move up or get "sent down"

Just a thought
