MLB The Show 17 delivers the most realistic and personal baseball gaming experience on consoles. This year The Show offers exciting gameplay improvements and a greater ability to personalize your baseball experience.
My prediction pulled out of my butt: The theme of next year's game will be "young blood" considering all of the young talent in the league right now. The cover athlete will be Kris Bryant because he is already a young superstar. However, Trout was the first choice but they could not get him. They wanted to do a dual cover with the two of them, as they are the top talents in the game at age 24 and 25.
Tying in with the theme, the game will focus on young players in its menus and intros, and the franchise mode will receive enhancements to the minor leagues and how players develop. You saw this a little bit in the 20-80 scouting system implemented this year. Those improvements will also be incorporated into RTTS with even more of a focus on the development of your young player.

Ranking the Top Ten in MLB *age 25* and younger using only 2016 performances :
Yeah I've always wondered about that, it seems like every young star has gotten some love from SCEA in promotional material, but Trout seems to always get left out. It's weird considering he's the best player, so you'd think he'd be a top priority. There's got to be some reasoning behind it.
Think about it:
McCutchen wins MVP - McCutchen gets the MLB 13 cover
Cabrera wins MVP - Cabrera gets the MLB 14 cover
Trout wins MVP - Puig gets the MLB 15 cover?
Donaldson wins MVP - Donaldson gets the MLB 16 cover
EDIT: I will admit they did get his stance down perfectly this year, though.
That's so true I've always wondered the same thing
I don't buy into the notion that the Angels are actually a Los Angeles team. They are Orange County and Riverside County through and through.
Yeah they are bigger than, say, the Brewers or the Royals by virtue of being in Southern California, but I wouldn't put them in the same category as the Yankees or Red Sox.
Jose Fernandez would be a nice tribute but as others have said, I think it might be a little depressing. MLBTS can honor him in other ways
I hope as a Cardinals fan that MLBTS shows us some love with a Cardinal player on a load screen or menu; I don't recall a Cardinal player ever in the menu or load screen in past versions dating back to MLBTS07
