MLB The Show 17 delivers the most realistic and personal baseball gaming experience on consoles. This year The Show offers exciting gameplay improvements and a greater ability to personalize your baseball experience.
I think this may be the earliest they ever they revealed the cover boy before.
Really makes you think they are integrating it with the timing of the World Series, which probably puts a greater impact on the notion that it could be a Cub or an Indian.
I'll stick with Bryant until proven otherwise.

I may be way off-base with that though. If somebody could clear this up for me that would be great.
Perhaps that all was just speculation as to why he wasn't provided the same treatment as the other breakout stars.

Yeah I've always wondered about that, it seems like every young star has gotten some love from SCEA in promotional material, but Trout seems to always get left out. It's weird considering he's the best player, so you'd think he'd be a top priority. There's got to be some reasoning behind it.
Think about it:
McCutchen wins MVP - McCutchen gets the MLB 13 cover
Cabrera wins MVP - Cabrera gets the MLB 14 cover
Trout wins MVP - Puig gets the MLB 15 cover?
Donaldson wins MVP - Donaldson gets the MLB 16 cover
EDIT: I will admit they did get his stance down perfectly this year, though.

If I were a betting man, I'd pick Bryant. He's got the talent, the looks, is playing in a WS on a historical widely known franchise, and most of all, his number is.........
Ortiz is no Kobe. I'm sorry but he legitimately may not get into the Hall of Fame, people need to stop with David Ortiz already.
Puig is no Kobe either , nor Adrian Gonzalez or David Wright or Ryan Howard for that matter . Still they were al Show covers . As for Big Papi in the Hall I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone to admit to being stunned if he made it into Cooperstown . I dare say Kobe winning anyones Husband of the Year award would be far more unlikely . Which is why I was deeply disappointed in 2K putting Bryant on the Legend Edition . Far more deserving individuals like Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett . Any man who cant wait for a girl to at least leave her teenage years behind before having an affair is no man . And Kobe is no man just scum of the earth . Not that hes alone in that but no one else of the same ilk should be a role model for our children . And even if she was of 'legal' age means nothing to me . Just because you can do a thing doesnt mean you should . Sorry for the rant but Bryant brings out the worst in me and makes me sick tomy stomach . Back on topic I would even be up for having no athlete on the cover , just a shot of Wrigley and its ivy or even something as simple as homeplate with a baseball and a couple bats crossed .

I would think they aren't repeating any of the Captains from '16 so I think Rizzo, Ortiz and Altuve are out of the picture. And they've gone NL and AL alternating the past couple of years.
I'd like to see Bryant, Arenado, Goldschmidt or Trout.
Fernandez would be cool, but may be too surreal for some people and seen as a net negative.
Its going to be a superstar. A larger than life persona in baseball past or present. They are going outside of the box with this announcement earlier than in the past. We maybe in a for bigger experience in 17'...
