It'd be nice if we didn't have to do our own guess work.

You already have to have XP sliders at max for positions like OG/OL in order to have them keep pace with default rosters, what now?

Wish they'd make Route run more expensive and lower the catch attribute upgrades just a tad.

Any word on an ETA for the offline patch?

I wish it would come soon I am dying to start a franchise

Personally, I'm not a fan of what they did. I liked the drafts the way they were. I think a lot of online franchises are going to have boring drafts now. Round one will be interesting, but after that we're going to see a lot of duds. I guess raising xp sliders is a solution, but that's underwhelming to me. I could be in the minority, jmho.

Im pretty sure EA uses these online updates as kind of a beta version for the big patches.

I'm there with you. I was saying all along, it's not broken, and works well as it is, but if too many complain they are going to issues a "fix" to something that doesn't need fixing and we aren't going to like the results.

Anytime something is nerfed needlessly it's never as good as it once way.

I never looked at the real rookies. I cant name 5 ratings of rookies off the top of my head. I looked at the lowered ratings scale put in place this year and what a typical starters rating looks like. and judging off of that, its easily determined that the generated rookie classes produce far too many good players. throw in the fact that you've got ridiculous 6'4 CBs and a plethora of 6'6 WRs and it just equates to a completely unrealistic draft experience. Now you might say hey it all worked out with the price of XP packages and all that but that means the XP packages are an issue, not the draft classes. Generated players come into the league with way too high ratings. Not just compared to the base rookie class, but to the base roster, and to the way a typical real life draft goes. Draft classes should be round 1 starter, round 2 possibly a starter, round 3 good backup rare starter, round 4-7 backup. not finding starters in round 1 2 & 3.

If you're fine with reliably finding 3+ starters every draft, and finding 6'4 deion sanders and 6'6 antonio browns then I can see why you would say it 'works well'. But if not, I simply cannot fathom how anyone can say the new draft classes tuner is a mistake.

Anybody notice that it is harder to run the ball after the new update? I was constantly trucking and breaking at least 1 tackle with Derrick Henry prior to the update, but now it seems the safety or lb instantly tackles me.

I like the idea of lowering the draft class, but only after a certain round. Like it's been said, exp is harder to get, so that should play a part. We shouldn't have to then up the exp sliders to compensate

Spot on

People are just mad cause they're not getting as many good players. There were wayyyyy too many 80s and upper 70s generated.

This patch (hopefully coming soon for offline) is critical.

There weren't good 6'4 CB's or 6'6 WR's every year before the fix. I don't know why that's some assumed fact. I found ONE "good" 6'4 CB in over 20 drafts. Just because people came into this thread and said OMG 6'4 CB does not mean it was a common happening in drafts. It wasn't. I loved the drafts the way they were, but I guess people complained and got their way.

I think everyone has just grown accustomed to players being 78 overall and above to be an every day starter in madden. This is great.. they are finally spreading the ratings out from great players to league average players.. getting a 70-75 overall rookie can still be a starter. They can still breakout and become elite.

To be fair, I don't think the complaint was about there being too many "good" 6'6" WR and/or 6'4" CB, but rather too many of them, period.

I did not get a big enough sample size to have an educated opinion on the matter (have only done 3 drafts); but simply going by the "drafts studs/freaks" thread you tell that there are lots of players that fit these specs, and those are just the ones with good ratings.

For reference, in each of those 3 drafts I had at least two WR and one CB that fit those freak specs. That's a bit two often compared to real life.

If you look at all nfl rosters today, or heck even for the past 5 years, I think you could count in one hand how many 6'4" CB you'll find, same with megatron type receivers. And this is regardless of their skill level.

I'm looking forward to the offline patch to see what real effects the tweaks had on ratings overall.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I just got a notification that 1.04 was now added to my PS4 DL cue.
