NBA 2K17 News Post

Kevin Durant has announced that he will join the Golden State Warriors. Looking at the end of season NBA 2K16 ratings below, the Warriors would have 3 players with a 90+ rating with Draymond Green not far behind. No current team has more than 1 90+ rated player, not even the classic teams have more than 2 players rated 90+.

ESPN's Bomani Jones stated you can't play with that team in 2K. Are the Warriors in NBA 2K17 cheese? If you run into them online, what will you do?

Clearly you don't play online. There are people who do pick other teams... If you're fine playing GSW all the time then that's prerogative. However, some people do prefer variety in their opponents and that's our prerogative. Problem is, we have to exit out 5-7 times in a row before we find someone.

He has a point though.

Add a separate tier for Cavs and Warriors to be in. Toss in a filter to not play that tier and I'd be happy lol.

I never said people weren't allowed to have their own opinion. I just don't respect these beta male opinions. I understand wanting to play more than just the same team over and over, but it's lame if you're complaining that the team will be too good.

They will be....That's fact. A very, very cerebral player may beat them, but it's going to be a very hard fought battle. After the Warriors and Cavs, the video game teams fall of a cliff when it comes to ratings and badges.

David West and Anderson will be "overrated" due to their bruiser badges.

Use Portland. I did this year. Y'all are overthinking it.

Dame-Curry (Deny) because Curry can't guard Dame. At worst thats a wash. Dame is Westbrook like in the game. Plus he's strongee than Curry so he'll bump him back if you stay in front.
CJ-Kaly (Deny) This works cause Klay is slow and really just catch and shoot. CJ ATH makes up for height with his closeouts

Aminu-KD (Deny) Tough match up cause Aminu is slow laterally but he's stronger and just as long so if you have good position (better to do this on Ball) its contested jumper

Evan Turner/Nobody-Draymond
Turner is a decent defender and is the same height. Draymond is mostly a catch and shoot anyway. But honestly if you playing GSW and get torched with Draymond that was just an L you were suppose to take.

You have Plumlee and Ed Davis as defender and rebounders. GSW will have noone. If the starter is Fetus or they go with a Curry/Klay/Iggy/KD/Dray lineup, put Lenard (Mispell) at the 5. Big body and can shoot the three. Run pick and fades from a 4out and there's no rim protector and if the overplay theres an open 3.

This team has no bench. No true shooters on the bench. Yeah Barbosa and Iggy can shoot but it's not high on their player tendencies so they can only take so many. Also unlike real life THEY ACTUALLY MISS CONTESTED 3s on 2k. No open threes on D and you make it a game of 2s you have a really good chance.

I think the Knicks will match up well too on 2k.

Also I really hope you don't think a shot from 3-6 feet away from the basket is the most inefficient shot in basketball. Have you ever heard of the mid-range? Come on man.
Mid-range and post-ups are the least efficient shots on the whole. Doesn't mean you don't take them, just means overall they're the worst shots in a vacuum. In other words, dying by the 3 is just like dying by anything else, though probably less likely to kill you than dying by post up or mid range.

If I even buy the game I'm not playing online cuz this is the only team I'd ever see

And make Durrant as tall as he is in real life and you got an undefeatable team with any decent player

Thank you. I look forward to giving a reality check to anyone thinking they can pick the best team in the game and cheese me with them.

Ray Allen, eyeing Golden State Warriors, considering return to NBA (via http://ble.ac/teamstream-) http://teamstre.am/29iEro7

Good luck.

It's not the team per se. It's the fact that GSW will probably be the most used team in online ranked games. I'm not trying to play 100 games, and 90 of them was against GSW bandwagon users. At the same time, I'm not trying to spend 30 minutes looking for a non- GSW user to play against.

I get easily bored playing against the same team(s) all the time. If everyone chooses GSW in PNO, then I'll stop playing by December easily. PNO is really the only mode I play with any regularity
I don't like that people do that but thats just how it is. Usually its a kid that I am playing against, who does that. I always pick different teams. I think most of the people on this Forum do, however, most of the players online are kids and causal players. We assume everyone out there is a OSer. Thats just not the case

I agree. For the record, I really don't care that people choose to play with GSW. Players should be allowed to select whatever team they want. As a non-GSW user, I REALLY wish that 2K Sports would give us the ability to use filters for online games. I going to assume that the ability to merely back out of matches in PNO in NBA 2K16 was just an oversight, so I'm pretty confident that the ability will be in NBA 2K17. Dashboarding is a long process, because you have to watch the intro video every time you go back into the game.

I could be overreacting. Given how good GSW will be, I really don't feel like backing out 10 times in a row to settle on a Cavs user, because I don't feel like waiting anymore to get a game in.

How is that a question? Of course they will kind of be cheese online in a video game. Their will likely always be that one team that most people like to use online though. Luckily I'm an offline player though.

If I run into them online I will beat them. Simple.

Here's a question for you guys. Even if you win, are you okay with playing against them 85% of the time? Is that enjoyable, facing the same squad over, and over and over again?

Yes because it was going to happen anyways...like has happened since the beginning of online gaming.
