Madden NFL 17 Equipment Upgrades - Helmets, Facemasks, Gloves, Cleats & More

A lot of you have been waiting for the Madden NFL 17 team to show off the equipment upgrades this year. Today is the day! The team has added a few helmets and updated some others. They have also brought in new facemasks and updated some more. New gloves, cleats and other accessories were also added this year. Check out the list below and the full blog here.

One-Arm Sleeves - These will be set on each player that wears this style via the default roster so the players in Madden will match their real-world counterparts; these sleeves can also be customized when editing and creating players.
Updated Wrist-Tape Options - Black, Team Primary Color and Team Secondary Colored Wrist-Tape
Updated the Ankle-Tape options and re-named them to 'Half-Spat' and 'Full-Spat'
All the new sleeves, gloves and shoes are set-up for color-swapping to match each team�s primary and secondary colors, as well as black and white.

Kane: what was the purpose of removing the Wilson helmet? Dont we need that and the riddell Tk for certain legendary Mut players? I use them for classic rosters. Thanks

I gotta say, I thought all you equipment guys were nuts, and often found myself thinking "how can they possibly care when ____ needs fixed!".....but man, was I wrong. It took me seeing it to join the hype, but boy...these look darn nice.

Here's an idea... Why not just scan the faces with their mouthpieces in for players that wear them in real life . Bring a variety of mouthpieces and have them wear what they will be sporting for the upcoming season . Scan Thier head with the mouth piece in.🤔

Because the mouthpieces need physics on them. They need to be able to move independently of the face/head. Just scanning the model doesn't achieve that.

Attachment 121666 while I appreciate the new cleats, I can't help but once again see that the color way's are off. Miami does not wear this color combination. The either wear orange or green, not both. The patriots are wrong . Most teams that wear white cleats beside the Cowboys and raiders will have inaccurate colorways. It's this attention to detail that EA needs to address to make every team as accurate as possible.

I'm sure there's some technical issue behind it like there is with mouth pieces and real single arm sleeves but it's better than nothing at this point

We didn't have anyone really wearing the Wilson and it was basically the same as the Riddell TK

Those are white and an accent of basically one color... And there not an option in the game. I wish that color way was in the game, but it's prob more green and just that hint of orange . Not white like in your pic.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to select white / primary or secondary to get what you want. Plus some of these combinations were not worn last year but we may see them this season.
