NBA 2K17 News Post

This year’s E3 expo had no significant basketball presence as we didn’t learn anything new about the future of NBA 2K or NBA Live. This isn’t unexpected, given that it’s been some time since we last saw 2K with a big presence at E3, and we already knew Live wasn't coming out this year. Either way where does each game go from here in the short term?

At this point we all should be used to the way 2K gives out info. The game comes out in September so I don't expect news to start showing up until August. Then I would guess MyGM/league and MyPlayer news will come late August or a week before the game comes out lol. I always look forward to the achievements list to leak because it gives me some info before 2K releases something about the modes.

They always say Gamescom is the first convention to have news and or gameplay in it, nothing new there really.

I hope they don't do the whole "release gameplay footage a week before release" crap again.

2K doesn't have a reason to waste time and money on making an E3 appearance, they don't have any competition or have a reputation to rebuild like Madden does. People just need to be patient. In my opinion, all of these gaming expos are just a waste of time anyway. All of this can be done over the Internet.

They really have no logical reason to change anything they're doing on the marketing front. They are crushing it with sales and critical acclaim. Their hardcore fan base being impatient is not really a good reason to show the game earlier than they have in the past couple of years.

It would be nice to at least get a trailer at the biggest gaming convention of the year, but 2k has no competition with EA, and the game sells millions regardless.

Sucks but I understand, 2k doesn't start their hype train until mid July.

You think they will add a USA Team given PG's Team USA pic on the cover? Idk if they've announced anything like that yet.

While I like 2k, this is the result of no real competition. As hard as they work, the absence of competition can no doubt lead them to take things for granted. So, I don't like this trend. Time for some competition in this space.

The season ended 4 days ago. I really wouldn't have much interest in anything they have to show this early. And if they do release early-build gameplay footage, then you end up with people dogging it out and saying how "it looks like 2k 16.5", etc.

The problem is the news they do release is crap I don't care about. I want nitty-gritty details about better online support and changes in mechanics. Which I guess is stuff that got released late in the summer.

I expect to see better support for Pro-AM especially if they're going to continue with this esport route.

Considering how good 2K16 was (MyCareer railroading and player-lock rebounding notwithstanding), I would be totally fine with this.

the only thing missing from the game are FIBA international teams...it would be MUCH more popular than the euroleague teams. to be honest, haven't even played with any of those teams as of yet. it boggles my mind why 2K hasn't added those teams. a full-on FIBA mode would be awesome. and if they included classic FIBA teams, that would be amazing.

2K always skips E3.
