Word, G.

16 took a real turn in the sim direction which i loved. they only needed to tighten a few issues for the USER AI and loosen a bit of the passing & tackling & positional precision of the CPU AI and it woulda been one helluva a year for me and fifa!

got a horrible feeling all the fut and kids who could no longer span sprint and thru-balls and who were screaming the loudest about fifa 16 will get their way, and we'll see fifa 15.5 post patch.

EA managed to ruin the game in just 10 days after release. That's quite an accomplishment for this company. Well done to EA and all the community kiddies for this impressive record. You all got back now the psychic pace and the arcade fest you were missing all these 10 days.
I think console gamers are doomed right now to play this mess as I think they can't bypass the game update.
As I knew that this company is maybe the worst videogaming company on the planet I had already copied the whole folder of the vanilla game so I can delete the game and apply it again.
Again congratulations to EA and the "community".

Oh! There are some positives also. Defensive positioning of both teammates and cpu AI is improved, there are more fouls, cpu tackles more and that's it.

I'm away from the console for the weekend. Could you possibly post some gameplay?

Whoa... I never give EA the benefit of the doubt but theres no possible way you've had enough time to tinker with sliders and come to the conclusion that the game is a lost cause.

People we're saying that 16 was so much different than the demo, but then I played it and it wasn't that bad. Hoping for the same here.

yeah it take a minimum of a few days of solid playing and slider tinkering before you could come up with the notion the game is broken.

there's always lotsa knee-jerking around the 1st patch.

Tinker with sliders? I was playing on default sliders pre-patch and tested the post patch gameplay the same way. Slow speed now is like the fast option . I can't even imagine how the game plays on normal or fast.
Believe it or not they've ruined the whole gameplay. The cpu is now extremely direct in passing and there's no build up play. Everything is gone.
I'm already replacing the update with the original folder.
Just wait and see how this thread will explode with complaints.

CPU being direct? That's fantastic.

Didn't they list those changes below? I don't see the mentioning any game play changes at all. I haven't played it yet with this patch however

don't even know how to tell if my game is patched, the file in FIFA 16 folder still says 1.0.0.0

No, this is the second patch. Hence, the title of the thread.

On PS4 you do not have to update any games if you do not play them online. Just set auto updates to off or whatever and play it how it was released. You may loose all online modes but I only play offline mm. So, I do not care.

Did you play it post patch? As I thought the patch was PC only at this point.

Did you accidentally fire up 15? I'm seeing none of what you're claiming in five or six matches post-patch. The speed is exactly the same as pre-patch, and if there's any difference in passing or the way the AI attacks it isn't discernible. The only noticeable gameplay change I've seen is that keepers aren't quite so overpowered in taking care of crosses and corners, and even that change is fairly subtle.

I feel like you've been afflicted with some serious placebo effect.

# 14 Krebstar @ 10/02/15 08:26 PM
Well, if they really did alter the game to cave to a specific sect, then I'm glad I still own FIFA 14. Might just have to pop that in the PS4.

Hoping some heavy sider editing can do the trick, though.

And heck, on default if the AI plays more direct, perhaps that means they can be slowed down with custom tactics. Just trying to be slightly positive.

# 15 SpritePuck @ 10/02/15 09:03 PM
Nowhere anywhere does the patch claim to change pace... More direct I would think would depend on how you play. If they try to go direct up the middle against me that will be a death march with the way I pack the mid.

I am on PS4 and will just wait until it gets here before I panic.

# 16 Gnemi @ 10/02/15 09:06 PM
It has not affected pace.

Seems like everyone is freaking out about this patch.

I am on PS4 and don't play online. I do play FUT--but not online matches. Would I be ok not to DL the patch and still be able to play FUT?

Nope because FUT is online based.

just watching a twitch stream of post patch, offline CM play.

and it is playing magically. just perfect, and that's on all default. you can tell the good dribblers. playing with a good team you feel notice the good team.

i can't wait for the console patch ... we're in sim heaven!

Crossing my fingers for the patch hitting consoles this weekend.
