NBA 2K16 News Post

2K has just released a new NBA 2K16 video, this one features NBA 2K16's Play Now Online mode, which gives gamers an online ranking system for Head to Head and Team Up games, and 10 new created leagues in which you can reach goals and new league seeds. Wins and losses count toward reaching goals and new league seeds, though rising through the ranks won't be easy.
  • 10 different leagues (Freshman through Greatest of All-Time)
  • Wins and losses now count towards reaching goals to advance in leagues
  • Competition is based on your skill level with scouting reports on your opponent
  • Teams are broken out into 3 tiers, beat teams from higher tiers and receive extra league wins
  • As you advance in Play Now Online, you can unlock classic teams to play with
UPDATE: Also mentioned on Twitter by Scott O'Gallagher, Gameplay Producer for NBA 2K16, the difficulty will be set at Superstar Simulation and match making within your league and teams can change tiers based on real world team rankings.

What netcode? Do you have any proof of this? Is anyone here a server expert?

And I am not trying to offend but everyone makes it seem like every other sports game, any game that ha or has online play, doesnt have lag or solved it.

Is there a sports game without lag, because all the others Ive played have it. Why does 2k get all the bad wrap for this when no other company has perfected servers?

Can a dev or community manager from 2K please confirm what difficulty settings Play Now Online will be on?

Thank you.

People act like , every time you play online, that there is a lag and thats just not true at all. I'm leaving this conversation alone because I know the ban is coming for those who keep going on about it.

Play Now looks fun. I'm done.
Peace

Well, if you play any other sports game like FIFA, PES, and even another NBA Game(u know what I mean), there is no sports game have such a big issue in Online lag or input delay.

It would be a nice feature if you could provide BETTER servers from people on the other side of the world who PAY for your games every year but get the same **** server every year.

With no offense at all, Yao looks terrible as same as 2K15! If you make comparison, 2K9's Yao is far more better.

Chris, can you tell us about something about online experience?
We don't want another year laggy server and input delay.

Great Feature that myself and the Online Nation will excel in. I just pray the servers are smooth and the input delay is gone. 2K making great moves this year.. Only thing that works is Hard Work!

I've always avoided commenting about the servers because I know that everyone's Internet setup/situation is different, so I never want to come across like I'm doubting that people are having issues. I think everyone would rather spend their time playing than get on the Internet and make up stories about the online not working. So I don't doubt that these issues are occurring. I just want to make that clear.

However, in my experience, I've noticed the online play getting steadily more reliable since 2K11. This past year, the game still wasn't as responsive online as it was offline, but it was pretty close. It had the amount of input delay I've seen in any other sports game I've played, maybe with the exception of FIFA (haven't played NHL). I just know, for me personally, we seem to have come a long way from 2K9-2K10 when only 25% of my online games would even make it out of the loading screen, and you were lucky to get 5 people in a team up game without it breaking immediately. Back then, the online truly was unplayable for me.

If Lebron goes down with an injury, can you not use him online ? Does the Cavs tier drop from 1 to 2 or even 3 ?

Can someone tweet this to Scott. More specifically about the rosters....

Would hurt their sales numbers, so that won't happen.

2K tryna take over people lives. The amount of content in this years installment is just ridiculous! Not gonna have time for no other game lol
