My guess is that we will play the other 9 teams and then something will happen. Your player will get hurt or be forced to forfeit the rest of the year somehow for the sake of the story. Either that or it'll just be the elite 8.

Hopefully they will expand on the NCAA thing...would be nice if we just had NCAA games

Other genre games like shooters and RPG's always have gameplay and narrative discordance. With the introduction of the cinematic storyline into NBA 2K the narrative will most likely force you into the League early even if you're not a great player or just want to stay in school a while longer.

Since there are "only" 9-10 teams we're going to play from the Elite 8 and onward, which is three games for individual teams. I don't know about you or anyone else, but I'm not interested in playing a full season + an entire tournament against generated colleges like Vaseline Tech and Cocoa Butter State.
I don't know, I think that Vaseline Tech can make run to the sweet 16, they've got some pretty slippery dudes on the perimeter.

Fully agree. Like having a more realistic experience with realistic stats

Where, it wouldn't seem realistic to end up being offered a top school scholarship or being a top 10 pick in the draft when you are only getting 10 points a game or ball hogging to get more touches in short time

I thought it was too but 2K's market strategy this year is to hype crap and not give the full picture of what is going on. I will not rant but I do wish there was a clear overview of everything.

As a result, nothing is clear to me. Having to rely on bootleg streams just to get an idea of reality is just wrong.

Yeah, it's the gameplay/narrative disconnect that I mention in the post above. It's the price that comes with a cinematic storyline.

One other thought:

The last school should be Washington. A lot of people love making short guards in MyCareer and everyone knows that the most successful short guards come from Washington.

Besides we need the real Huskies repped. Amiright?

How long have you been watching basketball? I don't intend any offence I'm just genuinely curious. All of these schools have had success in college basketball.

Well since Villanova is the only real small school out of the bunch, I would probably choose that school for my Defensive PG.
I usually create 3 careers. I am not big on any of the other schools, so I would probably just choose based on best pitches

Not the same guy you asked but I've been watching basketball for a few years but never college ball, only colleges I really know that have had success are Duke, Kansas (from the Coach Carter movie haha), and Kentucky. I recognize some of the other teams because of the march madness.

You could ask me who's on what team in the NBA and I could name a lot of players on most teams but if you ask me who's on what college team I would have no idea because I simply don't watch it (although I plan on watching it starting this year).

Also Cocoa Butter State has Aaron Neville at power forward.

What would be really nice is being able to use custom teams and arenas as schools in addition to the licensed ones, including the school you choose to go to.

I mean they have audio clips of school names in already for the draft, right? And there's the arena/uniform/team creator that actually lets you upload any image. Just open all that up to be used in MyCareer.

Boom. Authentic NCAA schools, tourneys, and maybe even players, and you can go to ANY high school or college that you or someone else has made.

So with no Duke (which is incredibly disappointing I mean really) I'd eliminate Louisville since their another ACC school, Connecticut cuz they beat Duke in 99/04, Kansas because their another blue blood of this century, UCLA because its not the 60's or 70's

I'd probably choose between Michigan or Georgetown with Texas being a distant 3rd option

I'm excited for what 2k's bringing to the table this year. I just hope they provide an alternate mode next year like myleague so people who don't need to rush to the NBA can have the experience they want. Model it after NCAA 14. Start off in your senior year of high school. Have the ability to edit uniforms for the teams in your conference. In NCAA 14 they even had a handful of generic stadiums to assign. Play out your regular season, then you play in the state tournament. Have the ability to adjust how many minutes are in a quarter/half too. Based on high school performance, you get college offers. Same idea as high school, where if schools aren't licensed you can edit their uniform and court. End of the season play in a generic tournament and decide if you want to turn pro or repeat the process. If you turn pro, draft combine games and 5/6 summer league games followed by some training camp/pre-season games. There doesn't need to be cut scenes, just games and a customizable experience. They could even sell this mode for 30ish bucks a month or 2 before release like they did the draft combine.

Has anybody comsidered that if we end up having to play generic teams in our college season that these teams can be "rebranded".

Plus im a SC Trojan fan at heart. But i guess im gonna go with the Bummings (oops......i meant the bruins)

I never know how good the incoming rookies will be. I generally have a solid idea after Summer League after I read dozen of reports, watch few videos etc.

Since late 80s. I just CBA to look NCAA or remember where certain players went to college. For further explanation look at post above.

Texas is the team of choice for me. Fitting as well since it's the school I normally choose
