10 Confirmed Colleges in NBA 2K16

There are 9 confirmed college teams in NBA 2K16. Thanks to eagle-eyed Chickenney from the Forums. We've heard there are 10 college teams in the game, so we will update this post if that last team gets confirmed.

UPDATE: 9/21 Confirmation from 3 people with the game, Wisconsin is the 10th college in NBA 2K16.

UPDATE: 9/22 Based off of what we have heard from multiple sources, NBA 2K16 fans will be able to play 3 high school games and 4 college games in MyCAREER mode.

What, you were expecting a full season? A whole tournament? The fact that it's in the game is what the hype is about. This is still an NBA game after all.

Would be nice to have Duke, Kentucky, or UNC. These are traditional powerhouses and a lot of top high school prospects would go to these schools.

gonna guess they wanted way more money than 2K was willing to pay for licensing

Remember all those people who complained it took far too long to get to the NBA in 2K11?

I'm convinced 2K could include a Rolex in every copy of the game and there'd be dudes on OS complaining that they didn't put two in the box or a matching bracelet.

Yep, I still hold a grudge about that because that's what made me love the mode back then. Imagine playing 6 games in HS (3 regular season and 3 against the same teams in the playoffs), 13 games in college(10 regular season and 3 in the tournament-E8-F4-NCG), and then doing the draft combine 6 games from 2k10 and 6 games for summer league. Those people would flip. Having 6 games before the NBA (3 of each) seems a decent amount for this first go round (hopefully this stays in the future).

Is anyone gonna actually listen to what the recruiters say before actually picking? It seems that everyone's set on a college before even touching the game

Okay, let me break this down for you:

There are nine confirmed teams and one unconfirmed team - allegedly. They can't use the NCAA trademarks but I'm assuming they're still going to follow the 64-team format, which goes 64-32-16-8-4-2. Since there are "only" 9-10 teams we're going to play from the Elite 8 and onward, which is three games for individual teams. I don't know about you or anyone else, but I'm not interested in playing a full season + an entire tournament against generated colleges like Vaseline Tech and Cocoa Butter State.

I dont really see the point of a summer league 99% of my players will be starters for their respective squads and all star candidates lol ,unless your talking about after u come out of college which I would doubt it

I really hope we can have the official 8 minute quarters for high school and the 20 minute halves (10 minute quarters?) for college.

Some people enjoy shorter games but for me it breaks the 4th wall of immersion and instead of playing basketball I play a video game.

I mean if they make it obvious like Tuscaloosa University for Alabama or University of Austin I'd be ok with it.

I'm talking about after college, and it was already confirmed if I'm not mistaken.
