The NBA 2K16 MyTEAM Team have sent us this developer blog featuring, what else... MyTEAM. The team talks about team creation, the Gauntlet, Domination, Cards and much more.

After listening to the community feedback from 2K15 we noticed an important element missing which was a sense of individuality. Since the creation of MyTEAM in 2013, we have struggled with our long list of features having to pick and choose what would make the biggest impact. Branding and creating an identity has always been on that list and it was finally time to start working on it.

After all the goodness on other modes, MT seems a bit lacklustre. I like the concept of the mode and play it quite a bit, but am unsure about it at the moment. Hopefully all the changes to the engine make the mode fun again an playable for the simheads there.

One thing I do like is that the best cards in the game are earned in game and rewards are much better. Hopefully MT economy will work better as well.

Gautlet is cool, but I wish they incorporated regular team road to playoffs, where you can participate if you collect a full roster of a team, would make people to collect more rather than sell everything but your 13 player roster and would present more veritality in strategies exploited, to have opponents with weaknesses to play off of, rather than no weakness star filled squads. Unless they make head to head road to playoffs, but that wouldn't result in spending money for packs.
Also cool would be a draft before a online game. You get 26 players in your choose block from which you draft out 13 to for your roster. You and your opponent drafts alternatively to end up with two teams of 13 with no duplicated players.(you don't see opponents choose board.
Also I hope there is good statistics being held this season. I would love to know what's my overal record over the span of whole year in my team is and who's been my scoring leader and which roster has been the most successful one. Those things make it fun, adds another dimension.

Obviously a lot of people care about MyTeam as it is one of their more popular modes.

Well, there's a lot to be excited about and actually quite a few things i had in my wishlist but i already knew about those. More importantly... no news on lineup restrictions or matchmaking based on team quality. Can't say i'm surprised but still it's a little disappointing.

I am not big on MyTeam either, but it's something I would have liked to play this year. But I doubt I will have time for it.

I really just would like to play with players in their prime like Kobe, Shaq and other players you cannot usually play with like TMac and etc. But again, with so many things to do on 2K16, I doubt I would be able to even get those players.

I wish 2K had a Draft Champions type of mode like Madden has for the people like me, that isn't big on the MyTeam grind but also would like to play w/ throwback players and etc.

Since they didn't discuss it, I would bet RTTP is almost untouched

Agree whatever they didn't mention I'm assuming it was untouched. They did say the reward cards will represent the best cards in the game.

Im thinking rttp is exactly the same and still there. The Gauntlet is an online mode too.

All I'm going to say is the accidental reveal would've never happened if this was a presentation blog.

I tried My Team and I couldn't get past the initial round. Something about players not matching or wrong cards. It was probably something really simple that I didn't understand. The idea of playing with a bunch of scrubs as a team and set goal sounds fun though....
