Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

Does a roster update have to get the same approval from MS/Sony? Not sure why roster updates would take that long if no approval needed. Arent they just changing player attributes?

In this case, I will be more than satisfied.

I did like the slower default speeds though. I felt it made the game play better, really separating the elite speed guys from the rest.

Maybe next year.

yeah, that was the easiest way to fix it. BUT. what about those who want to play with 75 man roster and make cuts from season 1?

I guess we will be force to use the last 53 man roster i guess.

Anyone else perplexed by the size of the patch in contrast to how little was actually changed.

Yeah they would. Because you have to load the roster into CFM at the start.

If a league already exists, then it wouldnt look for a roster update right?

I'm glad they fixed the major issues. I can start my CFM once the opening day roster drops.

I wish they fixed a few other 'little' things but I'd rather get the major stuff fixed now and get the patch out faster rather than waiting another 2 weeks for everything to be in it. BTW, the speed thing might be a non-issue once the updated roster comes out, who knows.

I bet if they fixed everything some of you guys would complain that the patch is too big and it takes too long to download. Can't win with some people.

Sorry misunderstood what he was saying. It wouldn't affect the roster that's already loaded in. I'm not sure that all the patch fixes will work properly in an existing CFM. I believe that's why they told us to wait. Could be wrong though.

So I read there is an issue with free agents asking for low amounts? Does this seem to be a problem still? I just signed my right guard who is an 89 overall to a 4 year deal. $2 million a year with a $1 million signing bonus. That's what he was asking.

Did they fix anything about CFM confidence, not the in game boost, just regular old game to game confidence?

The reason I ask is because I was playing a test CFM with Oakland. I lost my first three games, then won seven straight and every player on my team had a confidence rating of 99. Even Derek Carr who had 15 ints to 11 tds had 99. I was actually having so really good game until everyone on my team started playing better due to their overall being boosted.

2 questions...

1. Did they fix the resign issue so we can resign players after preseason?

2. Anyone else having a real hard time getting and staying connected to PSN?

I ran a draft saw two 96 speed WR's and a handful of 92-94's..nothing looked out of the norm to me. Maybe I'm crazy though.
