Madden NFL 16 News Post


The much anticipated Madden NFL 16 patch has arrived for both Xbox One (732 MB) and PlayStation 4 (749 MB). Check out the list of updates below, which include improvements and fixes for gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more.

UPDATE: Just received official word from EA.

Players will not need to restart their Connected Franchises to see most of the fixes in the Title Update. However, due to draft classes being randomly generated, you will have to restart if you want the changes to your current draft class, as we cannot retroactively change those ratings.

Also of note, the roster update is scheduled to arrive on Friday, according to Rex Dickson, creative director of the Madden NFL series.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where AI defenders would get encroachment penalties after random huddle breaks and occasionally during the no-huddle offense
  • Addressed rare issue where receivers were called down by contact even when they weren’t being touched
  • Addressed quarterback locomotion warps on certain drop backs
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where players could receive over 100 confidence resulting in a short-term attribute boost
  • Tuned regression for offensive linemen
  • Tuned rookie deep accuracy rating
  • Tuned supersim stats where pocket quarterbacks were generating too many rushing attempts
  • Addressed issue where team could sign elite free agents for a low amount
  • Addressed issue where some free agents would disappear from the free agent pool
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • Addressed a rare issue where certain items would not have an image
OTHER
  • Addressed issue where the commentary line and presentation would repeat for a quarterback who returned from injury
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when using multiple controllers
  • Addressed a crash that could occur when exiting a game and the background video would continue to loop
  • Addressed general bugs and stability issues

No more adjustment on the horrible ease of deep balls online?? No shock there I guess. Game is straight bum friendly with horrific deep ball defense. Two man under, triple coverage, I mean it's just ridiculous.

What i think they will do is to update stock roster speed with the new roster on Friday. So new Rookies are more level ground with veterans.
Also, this isnt the last patch so its something that may be eventually fixed down the line.

So basically we waited two weeks for a patch that covered page #1 of the Bugs & Glitches Thread but didn't touch the other 40... Thankful for the update obviously, but disappointed in how little they touched when there's so many issues. Nothing about XP, Over Time game endings, stat glitches, amount of night games in CFM after winning the super bowl, games ending with defensive penalties, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc...

Problem with that is, the rookie issues was the main reason he advised us not to start.... So then if we do start now ,we will bring in rookies higher for a draft or two before a patch. Would have been nice to have all rookie issues fixed before starting our cfms

Beggars cant be choosers. I am happy with the update. Is it perfect? No. Can I play cfm now? Yes. Fast rookies? Who cares. Madden Gods are good.

Hopefully the frame rate issues for Xbox One were addressed...

No comments on if they fixed having to always adjust your settings for every franchise game ...like turning off tackle cone and passing buttons and etc...even when its saved to our settings..

Also when on zoom camera ....because of the settings glitch....everytime you pass the ball....cpu or human...camera zooms waaaay in on wr...no way to turn it off because it wont save the settings.

For telling us to wait on starting CFM's they barely touched any of the main issues

Damn so 95 speed qbs are still in the game? Yikes!

Also does anybody know if they fixed the on field visual feedback? I like to have that stuff off (type of catch to perform, tackle cone) and it wouldn't allow you to turn it off vs users and vs the cpu you would have to pause the game each time and turn it off.

Rex stated the speed issue on his interview.. They are going to be changing the base rosters to tune up the vets to where they should be.

How bad is the fast rookies issue? Are there tons of them or a handful (10 or less) in the draft class?

Rookie speed was a major issue worn out on this board. How this was not a priority to them in perplexing.

Hopefully a roster update will fix the current rosters at least.

Otherwise, what an oversight.

Glad they fixed everything that they did, but it really takes the wind out of my sails when they neglect such a game altering issue like rookie speed.

Technically, since this changes the code in the game, I dont see why you couldnt continue a league you already created, especially if you haven't played any games yet.

Guy in my league just ran a test, after 3 seasons . had 30 players with 95 or + speed on teams and 6 in FA .... there are 2 in stock rosters.... in a game where speed kills.... this is just unacceptable to me .

A lot of 98 speed WRs and had a draft class with 95 and 89 speed qbs

They have to. The current Rookies have 98 or more on speed. Some veteran CB who are started with good Overall are some 88 or 86 speed. Just go deep and you will beat that CB constantly.

Really hope they up the Speed for stock roster. Although i loved the idea to turn down speed, but i don´t like it if rookies will unbalance the game.

will this roster update effect existing franchises?
