Operation Sports is Going to NBA 2K (Gameplay impressions on 9/11)

Hey OS, Senior Editor Dustin Toms (@DustinToms) here. Release season is upon us, and the next big NBA title is coming up.

We've been invited to spend a day with NBA 2K this Thursday, September 10. I'll be flying down to The Hangar and have hands-on experience with NBA 2K16, conversations with the developers and opportunities to capture some gameplay footage (which will debut on the Operation Sports YouTube channel). We will surely come back with even more information overload for OSers to try and process.

Has anything been done to replicate how a do or die, last second shot of a game looks in the NBA?

I should be able to set the out bounds play we intend to run from the timeout and out of that timeout my 5 players should come out and be in position for that specific play immediately, not from the in-bound which forces me to rush the pass and doesn't let the play unfold completely.

In 2k15 the AI players get into their regular positions and just treat it like a regular possession, not only does it not look authentic it also usually results in a terrible shot.

NBA just changed play off structure rules. Will that be in the game?

What are the changes/enhancements to create-a-player? Can we edit body types and are the sliders available for tatooes, etc. available to other aspects of this mode like in sculpting a face and headshape?

This is important. Bad timing for the rules to change since the game has probably already shipped. But is it possible to update this in a patch?

Have they tightened up the players control ? To me that's an issue in 2K15. It's too slow and too delayed.

Hopefully they'll give you guys some information on mycareer. Spike's "He Got Game" movie is on vh1 right now which made me think of the career mode and honestly I think the story and the movie will be very similar but I'm not too sure. I just hope it's improved as the rest of the game is looking like it will be amazing.

I was wondering about the post play like can I dominate like shaq an body defender to the paint an give me posters how shaq used to. An also how much attention did they give to dirk nowiski this year because that's my favorite player an I wanted to know did they tweak his jumpshot an fadeaway, also he does pump fakes an sum times does a one dribble pull up after he get em with the fake.

Hoping Steve Kerr's no longer playing commentator and coach at the same time in 2k16.

If we are playing pro-am with only 2-3 users. Will our ai teammates play good defense so they won't be scored on easily?

I am big on uniforms and presentation so here it goes..

When it comes to All Star Weekend, will the Rookies and Sophomores be broken down by US v World?

If not, are the Rookies and Sophomore game still being played with those black and white default jerseys?

Has the NBA Finals celebration been upped? Eastern and Western Conference Finals celebration?

Will the NBA Summer League be played at the Orlando Arena with the practice jerseys? Playoff style?

Could we edit prospects before the US v World game after the draft?

Any new historical jerseys added?

Like many others, would like more info on CAP. How has the quality improved? Is there a limit on how many player slots there are?

Also, would like to know if there is Create-a-team, and what are the limits with that? Basically my angle is: can we create our own historic or fantasy league through editing or player creation abilities?

Also, would be curious on accuracy of historic teams. Have players formerly missing been added? How is the roster accuracy of newly added classics.

This was something I wanted to ask as well. Basically relocating/rebranding in the roster editor.
