Man, this was awesome! Even when people set up all of those idiotic defensive settings in 2K15 I was able to work my magic with the stick and blow past them or get my P&R offense to bail me out with no issues.

Now, it seems like somebody can actually scheme me to death. Guess I'll need to touch up on defensive strategies and other things to be able to keep up on my end on D.

Can't wait till Czar drops the offensive gameplay info, gotta master these sticks so I can go nuts with Melo...

Quote: - NEW- On the fly defensive adjustments – No longer do you have to call a timeout to make a simple coverage adjustment to a hot player. While on defense you can now change the ball pressure on the fly. Be careful on how many adjustments you do, the more adjustments the more potential for confusion amongst the rest of the defenders.

I saw this and a smile came across my face, then I read the rest of the blog pretty much fell out of my chair....WOW. I have to admit I am impressed at the attention to detail on defense and new defensive features. Also for 2K to do this -

NEW – Legendary team adjustments (Some highlights).
Jordan RULES – Yes, the infamous “Jordan Rules” are in the game. The entire progression on how they disrupted Jordan’s rhythm in the late 80’s is here. From where they forced him when he had the ball, to the change from Dumars to Rodman depending on success.
Scottie Pippen matching up with Magic Johnson- As you know this was the adjustment that changed the entire 91’ series.
Gary Payton on MJ in 96’ Finals.
Celtics adjustments to the Showtime Lakers.

The devs have been working there butts off! .... I'm pretty much speechless right now....

Yes yes yes! I think he one thing us sims heads have been asking is ...CPU GAME ADJUSTMENTS! Thank you 2k. As some of us know, the game will get pretty predictable. For example, you score say 4 in a row now here comes the double team but now.... Oh buddy ...and plus the CPU will put its elite defender on the best player regardless of position.... Man I've been asking for this for years!!

I wonder if these defensive schemes are team related or coaches related. For example if you're playing myleague and you're in your 5th season. You will probably have some generated coaches. The issue in the past year games was that all generated coaches had the same style, scheme, and playbook which made a lot of teams play the same. Hopefully (fingers crossed) generated coaches have a mixup on what defensive schemes they like to implement and also a mixup of playbooks.

Im pretty sure the dev team is going to be on the cover of 2k17, lol the real MVPs.

Can't believe everything that I just read, man. Playing with Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green on the defensive perimeter is going to be a thing of beauty this year. So many great features added and I'll finally be able to defend 94 feet with either Patty or Ray. Damn, wish we still had CoJo to defend PG's.

Anyway, NBA 2K16 has taken a huge leap forward defensively - weakside blocks, team specific pick - and - roll coverages and quick jump blocks (!) - that the game sorely needed. Can't wait to read the Czar's blog and for the 25th to be here already.

Hoping the defensive ability of coaches improves the efficiency of defensive rotations as well (maybe I missed it in the blog?).

Agree with me on this fam, the next time someone says, "These 2K developers are lazy", instant ban! Or they should be showered with Slap Gifs!

I think they found the perfect middle ground between 2K14 and 2K15 for the court shiness.

Scott, this was amazing! A coaches/sim players wet dream! Great write up! I can't believe the things you added! Playing up the line, switching in late shot clock situations, the defensive AI in general, you guys flat out nailed it on paper! Can't wait to see all this and feel it in game! Defense as you know was sorely lacking and was never balanced! It sounds like defense will be fun again! Last time I had fun on defense was 2k11. This was truly incredible! On a scale of 1-10 in my I'm hyped meter I'm at a 100!!!

Usually we see this in an offensive blog and we're like "With all these new offensive additions, how will we stop it?"

Now I'm like, how are we going to score? lol

Really hope every thing works as designed....but this blog definitely got me pumped....
