PES 2016 News Post

Between Gamescom and E3, there's a lot of positive buzz that many fans of the PES series will be expecting Konami to build upon as we move towards the release of PES 2016. While PES 2015 received critical acclaim, several notable enhancements went missing and prevented PES from reclaiming the soccer throne. It's what that in mind that I will take a look at what PES 2016 must get right.

Good job, I agree with your points. I'm happy to see no fouls receiving some air time too. No fouls really kills the on-field experience.

After gameplay, their next priority should be stadiums, whether licensed or generic. Lack of stadiums just kill the atmosphere in ML because you don't get the true feeling of playing a road game. Next, they should dedicate more time to adding the little things like more dynamic commentary in ML, named refs with different foul interpretations, real dynamic weather, not just dynamic rain, and real times and seasons instead of just night and day and summer and winter. Also, they should make cold weather games seem like cold weather games with cold breath coming from the players mouth and coaches and players on the bench wearing coats. Finally, they should consult with the makers of MLB The Show and get some dynamic lighting, to go along with the real times of day. I could name some more, but I've already gone on too long so i'll leave it at that.

I feel like the fouls and the tactical side of things may still be lacking again this year, I really hope I am wrong though.

they really need to create a "pro clubs" online mode. I'd happily jump ship to PES if they could provide my squad with the ability to play together.

I agree with virtually everything. My biggest wish is for far, far more responsiveness in the dribbling. I felt like the deft touch dribble took a step back the past couple of years, and certain skill moves were so latent that they were made virtually useless. I'd like to see a game in which the star players truly feel like star players, which wasn't really the case last year, other than shooting power and accuracy.

Also, as much flack as FIFA gets about defender AI, I've found that it's still far easier (for me) to score goals in PES. There's just too much space most of the time, and the keepers have historically been awful to boot.

Konami will never catch EA in terms of presentation and licensing, but they've really improved the graphics and gameplay to the point that I'll still buy the game. Just iron out those little kinks and I'm all in.

Btw, for those buying the game, will the PC version be the same as the PS4 edition?
PC is still Hybrid unfortunately.

You have to manually search it. It wasn't in the sports section for me, and I had to just search it.
