I'm a bit worried about the graininess of the graphics I've seen so far though. I'd say it's at best 900p, but the sun was so bright at Chambers Bay it was washing everything out.
Doesn't the sun "wash things out" in real life too?
I thought it looked pretty realistic in that regard, no?

Remember previous Tiger games were criticized for garish green textures and overall darkness....

I wish we could take the putter back for the distance we want to hit... yea we can hold the stick back longer for more distance but if you like using the club as a guide for how far to hit based on backswing, then putting does not work. The putter on screen physically moves exactly the same distance for every single swing. Like 14" .

Fells like auto bot putting compared to the rest of the swing mechanic. It may operate like the rest of the game based on how long you hold stick back but actually it feels/looks really wonky. fyi, I did not play the last game so it may be the same as last version but played most PGA and TW games since SNES days. So this is nothing new, putting has always been more auto pilot. Was just hoping they'd offered more organic putting for tour mode. Like TGC or Links on OGXbox.

Oh well, looks good and plays interestingly into the green with lots of options... and again, I was not aware that weather had been removed. After seeing the fantasy battlefield course I just assumed a full weather model.

edit: graphics and lighting really look great in morning and evening settings, shocked there is not even cloudy or overcast. Graphics look amazing really and the animations are the best they have ever been

Well after 2 more rounds and getting a little more comfortable with the gameplay I'm now completely sold on this title.

Upped everything to the highest settings as well as Hard Swing/ which I had numerous hits that were Underswung as well as Short swings that left me scrambling to make Par. No shot is safe on this setting. I've also somewhat figured out the putting. Finished at even par and if it was not for my prior experience as well as actually a real golfer in life I would have blown up on the scoreboard.

I doubted EA but I've seen enough to know I will be playing this one a lot, if not as much as TW14.

This is great news. Are you finding that you're missing more left and right with the difficulty turned up as well? Or is it still easy to hit straight but the tempo mistakes keep your shots from being perfect?

Play a bit more, I think you will see on long putts you need to take the putter head back proportionately longer for longer putts....

Starting to feel the same way.

Update, it appears the first two Career mode events (Web.com to get your PGA TOUR card) and the Bioware open simmed part of each round while you get to play 6 or so holes. Just fired up Bay Hill Invitational and it looks like the real 4 round PGA TOUR mode.

Going to go to Custom swing and really dial up the difficulty. Checking back later.

Will do thanks

Edit ... Still shocked that they have no overcast, cloudy or rain.... baffled. Could only imagine how good it would look in this engine

Edit 2... yes played in tourney with created player and putting looks different. was only playing with Rory in other rounds play now. Weird. putting not as bad as I thought. Maybe distance was the difference as you said

There were at least 3/4 shots where I thought I hit it clean and it ended up being 25/30 short/long that left me with a bad next shot. One I clearly remember was my swing plane was straight but I missed the green short by like 30 yards and I noticed that I had a Slow swing with a short swing but everything felt right. I've been wanting something like this for years. To have that shot that you think is $$ only to find out that you came up way short

My Custom settings are
SWING MECHANICS- advanced
SWING DIFFICULTY- hard
SHOT SHAPING-off
LIE EFFECT- advanced
SPIN CONTROL- off
ZOOM-off
WIND GUST- on. Just switched this to on. Gonna give it a whirl
AIMING-off
PUTT READ-off

CAMERAS
ADDRESS- default
TEE TO GREEN- Pro
PUTTING- follow
COMET TAIL-off

GREEN GRID-on but that will be changing soon

Looking at Pastapadre twitch stream the game is gorgeous. I will probably buy it on looks alone. Seems as the gameplay is a mixed bag right now. Looking forward to hearing more sim impressions.

Probably more unlikely than likely but you never know... Driveclub added weather post release and this not being an annual release increases the chances of it happening

Did anyone get the opportunity to check the number of events in a Season?

# 76 Beelzebot44 @ 07/08/15 10:31 PM
The player creator is a joke. An absolute embarrassment, and it might be enough to keep me from getting the game.

Yeah the grass is weird. It's like a fuzzy TV at times

# 78 twinswinagain @ 07/08/15 10:34 PM
Game feels half complete, very limited create a golfer options compared to TG WOODS. Poor frame rate, graphics themself are decent though. We're are the friends challenges? Game just feels a lot like NHL 15, rushed. I only played 2 rounds so I will continue threw the 10 hours but at this point I cannot recommend this game sadly. Possibly at $20.

I got 5 holes in at chambers bay while it's still downloading.

Gameplay. In whatever setting the previews mode is in, had that classic ea feel, but with a difference, that felt better.

Commentary and presentation. Fantastic.

Visuals. I thought It looked a bit grainy too. Especially the long grass. Hopefully it is just because of but fully downloaded yet. Also seemed a bit choppy. Again, hoping it was because I wasn't fully downloaded yet. Going to get some time in tomorrow morning before work i hope. Got to manage this 10 hours wisely though. Lol

So far, so good. Albeit just a brief taste and preview for me.

What do you mean there is "no weather"?

It is 'always' sunny?

Never windy? Never rain?

Can't that all be set pre game in conditions? (I have not played an EA golf game for years)
