Another NBA Live 16 gameplay video has surfaced on YouTube, this one from TDBarrett. It's just over 2 minutes long and shows a little more than the one we posted earlier today.
I'm loving how early they are showing off the game it's a big step in the right direction. We can't expect leaps and bounds between each game cycle but the fact that the game looks like a solid foundation to keep building on and not scrap after a year should be music to everybody's ears.
We can already see more fluidity in this video compared to the IGN one. There are weak spots but overall it does look promising. Graphically (lightning and player models, not animation wise) it looks better than the other game. Keep cleaning it up until release EA.
How much are they paying these ppl this game needs a lot of polish. The movement isn't contextual and it looks like a cartoon in way too many instances. No one lays the ball up like that and it goes in that way. They need ppl to stop lying to them if they really want to make this thing work. My honest opinion. As a Live lover of past years this hurts to see going on for so long.
I gotta admit I'm just not impressed up to this point. Great that sliders have been added but a lot of the animations still look whacked!!! It's still early on so I'm hoping that it improves as it gets closer to release.
Saddens me I'll never be able to enjoy Live even though it looks terrific because of the camera view. I can't roll with the broadcast view and wish they had something like to 2K view offered

Yeah the animations are just still lagging behind....
I'm not saying canned animations is the best way to go but EA seems to be struggling with their direction towards how they want the game to animate.
It seems like they have a great vision they just can't seem to put the nail in the coffin when it comes to player movement...
Graphics, Courts and sounds are all top notch but I've felt that way about Live even going back 4-5 years.....
The animations is the only thing besides Synergy IMO keeping this from becoming a great game when it translates to the floor.
Players move like they're on sling shots in these videos. They had an issue in 15 where the free throws felt that way, and they fixed it. I wouldn't worry too much on how it looks at E3. When they show the game at Gamescom and it still looks like this, that's when you should worry. While the videos are horrible, you get a sense of what they're trying to do though, like I said in a previous post, there's probably a lot of missing animations.
I just think they're making a basketball game where you have to play a certain way (slow paced) rather than a fast pace. We'll see. Hopefully we can edit (and save) players attributes and change certain sliders to our liking. I still feel that the sliders list will be limited.
Just my opinion
I agree. Its still early and they have time to fix some of these animations. I really hope someone from team is reading our posts on here about what we don't like. We've complained about the jumpballs and post game all season, yet its still the same and they haven't mentioned anything about the post game as of yet. Makes me feel like they aren't listening...
I think it looks solid for this stage in development, I expect it not to be amazing but I think the game is looking pretty solid thus far. EA is heading in the right direction, hopefully it plays and feels better than it looks but at any rate it looks solid.
I feel like ball physics has always been a miss. Just looks odd every time the ball hits the rim every year for me. Graphics look pretty solid on some players tho.

That should be the EA Sports modo....."EA SPORTS......Headed in the right direction" Lol
Immediately on the first play and the AI attempts a left handed dunk despite the clear path with his right? Of course the shot gets blocked. If that happens to me in-game, I'm liable to stop playing right there.
Unlike the other video, in this one CPU Kyrie actually attempts to drive to the basket and gets the foul when the USER veers off his defensive assignment. Maybe difficulty level has something to do with this? But I'm glad to see this either way.
This sounds petty but does the point guard have to always stand by the free throw line when receiving the inbound pass? And is it always on the opposite end of where the inbound is? Little things like this just don't make sense.
1:27 in. This is the issue with the CPU not protecting the paint with the fast break in motion. CPU Kyrie should be in the paint while being aware of his assignment. Instead, he hangs by the free throw line and his assignment (Curry) runs right past him for an easy pass. Though the user blows the layup, this is the kind of CPU AI that is frustrating.
2:00 in. Why is CPU Thompson not aware of his defender? Just dribbling the basketball right into Bogut and then right in front of the would-be stealer. No real person does that. They would protect the ball immediately or try to dribble away. I understand there's an offensive awareness rating, but that's not rating based. That's pure basketball logic that no one making the NBA would purposely do.
And yes while some of this stuff is petty, it's time, guys. EA wants to be respected and play with the big boys then they need to think about these little things. Graphics and overall stuff is there. Time to fix the things that make the game real.

To be fair, 2k also suffers from this. Both games need work in the situational shot-type selection.

I noticed that in the other video as well. Hopefully we see the result from this video more often, or it's tied to the difficulty level.

To me, it looked like Kyrie was actually in good position, and stayed with Curry all the way to the basket. The pass that the user threw was a bad pass, and should have been stolen (it looked like it went right past Kyrie's head). Again, hopefully that is tied to the difficulty level, because a poor pass into the paint like that should result in a turnover, or at least a deflection. If that's not why it played out that way, then they definitely need to rework some of the AI there.

Agreed on that one. Even on Rookie, that blatant ball-showing shouldn't happen lol.

From what I've heard its because you kinda get taken out of position
Im all for paying for a mistake but thats not what I heard this was

they mention the post game in interview which is posted on youtube, by ipodking i believe but anyways they haven't put the new post moves in this build of the game but they are planning to have it in by the final build.
