Madden NFL 16 News Post

Madden NFL 15 featured a hugely improved defensive game -- but it was limited mainly to the line play, tackling, and overall A.I. adjustments. This year, Madden NFL 16 will feature improved defensive back play as well as motion and weight based gang-tackling according to a new blog from EA Sports.

You will now be able to play the ball or play the receiver as a defensive back, with plenty of options and control to combat the new offensive tools.

Im curious as to how much of all these improvements will find their way onto the 360/ps3 version?

"OTHER TACKLING IMPROVEMENTS

While most players raved about the changes to tackling in Madden NFL 15, some users complained about feeling too much “suction” in the conservative tackle system. The team took this feedback to heart and tuned both the tackle cone and match distance to eliminate warping (or suction) from the tackling system without sacrificing control or responsiveness."

Need to see some real gameplay and see for myself.

I'd assume none. I think it is about roster update time for those systems.

I was wondering how dangerous scrambling QBs appear in this years game. Last year they seemed kind of neutered
I'll be doing a gameplay question and answer session basically from 630 Eastern time to 730 Eastern time tonight. I'll try to get to as many questions as I can for you guys.

I really like the pre play adjustment changes, that's been on my list forever. Not big on the play ball/ play wr or the new wr controls. Most of the other stuff I need to see for myself before I could judge.

Being able to 'play the receiver' is a welcomed addition, this can finally help DB's/S's with high HPW the opportunity to shine more consistently and forces drops on the contact.

Ball-hawk is a nice feature in and of itself, but this adds depth to how a secondary can be built.

Yep that one surprised me. Missed it since 2K had it.
Very happy.

Sounds great. The gang tackling has been pretty awkward to watch the last few years. So, hopefully this works out, will go a long way in improving things on screen.
