Madden NFL 16 News Post

Game Informer has posted 25 things to know about Madden NFL 16's Franchise Mode. Quite a few of them were not included in the official blog released earlier today. Below are a few items of interest, click here to read them all.
  • Draft classes are randomized, and the development team has tweaked the process to try and ensure better and more realistic distribution of positions drafted and where they are drafted.
  • Once your player is drafted, you'll immediately see their ratings and where they rank in the draft in terms of their overall rating.
  • Madden 16 does not include major changes to signing free agents or the available contact options. Elements missing in previous years like restricted free agents and the fifth-year option are not in the game.
  • Commissioners of online and offline leagues can apply wins or losses to other players' matches. This could come in handy if there was something that prevented a game that should have won, or if you want to advance the week to skip over a deadbeat player.

Also to the guy saying it is a monopoly: you're calling other people grammar school and ignorant? Do you know what a monopoly is exactly? Google it. If other companies couldn't make football games at all that would be a monopoly. That is not the case. They have rights to the NFL. Most people happen to not wanna play without the license in a game but it isn't a monopoly. I love a lot of football games with and without the license but unfortunately that isn't the case with most and why Madden makes so much money.
EA doesn't have a monopoly, by definition, but they do in a loose sense that they know, as well as gamers know, when it comes to sports games, we want real teams and players....

It is a game to promote the NFL and the players in a good light, reality is not in the zip code. They don't even track past Super Bowl champions in CFM for an example. No real sense of what matters to NFL fans of football. My take. Sorry.
Madden made a ton of money before they had the exclusive license.

They spent millions due to the NFL (the real company to blame or at least share the blame) wanting an exlusive deal.
They made the right business decision.
And like already posted Madden was a $ machine even when there was no exclusive deal.

I replied to your statement that "Madden makes a ton of money BECAUSE it has the NFL exclusive, Period."

And really I have no idea why anyone would think Madden is or will become a simulation (full) NFL game. It will unfortunetly always be Madden.
It's a football game with some sim aspects but no where near where I'd like it.

We seriously need some more options and hopefully before I get too old to play we'll see that again.

It is what it is and I'll enjoy the game for what it is and not dwell on what it isn't..
To be continued...

I just want 1 question answered.. Is the ticker only a goal ticker or will it update you on things going on around your cfm league?? can I please get a direct answer for this....

also all of this talk about sim vs casual.... casual players are sheep.. all they do is follow what the majority does... make a game for your hardcore fans.. get good word of mouth and the casuals will follow... look at nba 2k..thats why they are the most acclaimed sports game. period.

No. Casual fans are simply that casual fans.
Why does anyone who isn't a carbon copy of someone else as far as likes and dislikes always belittled.
God that gets old.

I agree, they shouldn't be belittled. Though there is no argument that casual fans buy Madden because of the shield on the box.

Agree.....but that doesn't make them "Sheep"
and they account for the vast majority of sales I believe.
Reason Madden isn't going New Coke any time soon lol

@skyboxer.. I use the term sheep because I played 2k since 2knothing and everyone was playing live.. but I kept telling them 2k is more realistic and that's all you need to be successful.. they laughed.. 13 years later the more realistic game is still around and they play 2k now all of a sudden... the one that doesn't listen to its hardcore fans is on life support.. casuals go with the wind but passionate fans keep you around.. hence madden needs to start listening to its hardcore fans quickly... now whats up with the ticker????????????

Ur point that NFL is to blame just as much as madden is probably the single smartest thing I have heard, I once thought but never expressed! So true..EA eats the blame 99% of the time but really it's the NFL's fault!

I don't really see anyone happy about CFM this year. In fact, multiple posters have been banned already due to their passion about how disappointed they are.

The general consensus has really just been the feeling of being underwhelmed

Not to mention, I believe that more CFM news is coming out this Friday.

So, there might be more? I assumed that all the news was out.

I could be wrong, but in one of the other threads someone posted a tweet from one of the devs promising more news.

EDIT: JP posted it. It can be found here:

No one was banned for passion... They were banned for either trolling, name calling or other TOS violations.

This would be great news if true..also noticed Josh who is no longer in charge of CFM locked his Twitter to the public..maybe the disappoint was felt? I know he isn't in charge but he was the "punching bag for CFM"..I checked Kolby's and it wasn't every active over the past year

Edit: however my fear is this..if EA felt the backlash..I really hope they just don't force things (add on's) that are not ready to make use happy without it being ready..I rather them acknowledge they heard us and say it's going to have to wait till we fix it..or until we can patch it

I might be wrong but it looks like he posted that on 5/27, the Friday he was referring to would have been 5/29.

Could be they split the CFM deep dive into 2 parts but they didn't say that anywhere to my knowledge
