Well no custom draft classes. So unless they included some feature that allows you to edit rookies name, height, weight, school, age etc. I'm not buying. I may consider investing in a backwards compatible PS3 and play Madden 11 or even NFL 2k5.

You mean simulating the nfl competitive process? Like we can with the nba.. And the MLB? Even in some ways the fifa one? You mean we don't have to use fantasy circumstance players( that one dev In particular loves to inflate his ego' with) in game? Why would we want to do that? That's too much to expect out of the third cycle of a next gen game. The college players might sue.. Oh no they may lose some more pocket chage...

I wouldn't count on it buddy. It's too hard to program. Ha ha more important things to do like shuffle the player menus. You know kinda like the workers at cvs and Walmart do when they get bored. Geeeeez...

Ok...

Second Madden has NEVER been a full on sim game and will never be so.
To me it's shame on those who continually complain year after year knowing full well Madden is Madden.. and always will be.

It's fine to explain what you want out of the game but expecting MAdden to change significantly away from what's given EA millions of dollars is unrealistic at this point.

I want a full on sim experience too but it's pretty evident that will only come from a different developer.. when/if we ever see the exclusive deal end.

I'm glad you have the rational that you do. Doesn't it make playing it a lot more fun when you're enjoying what they did right instead of using all your time to point out all they did wrong. If it is so horrible and you don't plan on buying it why are you wasting time on a MADDEN message board? Could it be because you love to complain? Possibly but I don't know.

Also to the guy saying it is a monopoly: you're calling other people grammar school and ignorant? Do you know what a monopoly is exactly? Google it. If other companies couldn't make football games at all that would be a monopoly. That is not the case. They have rights to the NFL. Most people happen to not wanna play without the license in a game but it isn't a monopoly. I love a lot of football games with and without the license but unfortunately that isn't the case with most and why Madden makes so much money.

EA doesn't have a monopoly, by definition, but they do in a loose sense that they know, as well as gamers know, when it comes to sports games, we want real teams and players....

What should die are people's expectations that Madden will ever be more than a Madden football game.

I'm in the camp that wants a lot more from a FB game but I also have accepted Madden will always be Madden.
Madden makes a ton of money BECAUSE it has the NFL exclusive. Period. If it had to stand on its own merit things would be drastically different and they know that. Why do you think they spend millions on the license? Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Madden. It's a fun game with some NFL reference. But nobody is calling it a true NFL experience or a simulation. It is a game to promote the NFL and the players in a good light, reality is not in the zip code. They don't even track past Super Bowl champions in CFM for an example. No real sense of what matters to NFL fans of football. My take. Sorry.

Madden made a ton of money before they had the exclusive license.

They spent millions due to the NFL (the real company to blame or at least share the blame) wanting an exlusive deal.
They made the right business decision.
And like already posted Madden was a $ machine even when there was no exclusive deal.

You missed my point entirely. Yes they make money just not simulation football games.
