GM Mode I want to be able to hire staff(coach, scouts, etc) I want scouting reports on prospects,(weaknesses ,strengths, mock drafts, lottery) also I would love to see real gms in the game with I.Q's trading and drafting ,
-everyone in the nhl should get face scans with roster updates that update ratings and faces
-teams develop there top rookies for example if Leafs draft Hanfin they should develop him and by year one
-ALL THE A.I ON AND OFF THE ICE SHOULD BE FIXED
-Nhl 16 needs a new rating system
-We should be able to Gm other teams in other leagues(gm an OHL team )
Make the Gm Mode like EHM pretty much
I woudld like to see defensemen not be able to skate as fast backwards as they do forward. On the flipside, I would like to see some more abilities for defensement to counteract that. I would also like to see grinding teams be able to wear down fast teams, if they play into their gameplan. If they can grind for pucks behind the net, or in the corners, over time that should impact the fatigue levels of the finesse teams.
I also echo the sentiments of those who want Ovie and Crosby to stand out more and have more skills at their disposal than the run of the mill 3rd liner.
Overall, let's improve the on-ice product and stop this up and down hockey. I'm a Rangers fan and watching them take on the Caps and now the Lightning, it's two totally different strategies for taking on these teams. EA's NHL should also reflect that.
I might be in the minority here, but I believe this series should eliminate some of the overseas hockey leagues. I think that takes away from the NHL product, no offense to my overseas hockey brethren. I know the sport is global, I think in this instance it hurts the product.
0) nextgen true to hockey AI that allows U to play 20 min. periods with realistic stats. This incl. players differentiation.
1) 1:1 defensive skill stick
2) full collision detection "switch" at least for offline modes
3) total pass control
4) 100% realtime presentation (ala Fifa, Nba 2k)
5) 100% loose puck physics
6) nextgen goalies
7) nextgen faceoffs
8 ) physics based everything, especially plays around the net and boards.
9) IIHF licence and gameface.
10) nextgen Be a pro/ Eashl
One can only dream
This is the dream. Not even expecting to see 1/3 of this but this is the definitive list for me. I'd also like to see 70% face scans or better, with the players whose facial scans are 5+ years old getting new ones.
Must-Haves:
-Bring the AHL back to GM Mode
-Add back in all the lost in-game and stats stuff (Hat Trick animation, player totals)
-Allow players to edit ...uh, players >.>
-Bring tournament mode and national teams back
-Add all the stuff lost from GM Mode, like screens that tell you what players retired and full schedules
-Winter Classic back in (despite being p. much pointless now IRL)
Wants:
-Real coaches
-Season Mode, with adjustable season length
-Unique Goalies, so they don't all act the same
-Banners get added to the rafters and actually stay there in GM/Season Mode, not just a cut scene and they vanish
-Full face scans of every NHLer at least, and ideally AHL as well
-Out of town highlights
-IIHF license
When I go back to 2k10 on occassion, the full stick control and ability to block whichever passing lane I want is terrific and definitely missing.
Really hoping defense has a better arsenal to stop offensive players and body position and angles mean more.
Fingers crossed for coop op season/be gm online, even if it is like 2k10 method of inviting a friend (hopefully friends) I'd be great with that. Don't need the whole GM Connected but do need a way to play coop seasons with online friends.
Hoping : The game is full of features. working well, fun to play and not all about bla bla bla all summer long like previous versions.
Expectation : Nothing! If a guy's been cheated by his wife 4 times in the last 4 years, first thing to begin with would be to expect beeing cheated again. That's what I expect from EA Sports NHL Team. Lot of "We heard your critics, we've listened to you, you're important to us, we'll show how much we went forward this time around..." and then, early september, discover that again, they we're sitting on their hands thinking :" They always come back anyway, those idiots, why would we change at all..."

There's a limit beeing an idiot!
I like your sense of humor.....after being "cheated" in 12, 13, I stopped buying.
NHL 15 was so awesome, I'm still enjoying my Be a GM. With that being said, they need to get the co-op and multiplayer game modes back from '14. EASHL and Connected GM is a MUST this year.
I just want a real GM mode that I can play without having to make sacrifices. Give me the features of last gen with new logic and new menus. Let me hire and fire my coaching staff if I want. Let me edit every detail about a player if I want. I would also love to see a robust team relocation system so I can move teams like Phoenix and Florida into real hockey markets.
And don't stop improving the presentation, it's almost there but not quite. Commentary needs some refining, a few arenas need some touch ups etc.

Great list.
Also, and maybe it's already in the game (I haven't bothered with BaGM for a while), but can we be fired and have to look for another gig?
Maybe we have to start over in the CHL or to find a job in Europe before getting another shot in the NHL?
Madden '99 had this feature and it was incredibly fun. Why can't the NHL series adopt this?*
*Again, if this is already in the game, I apologize, but I don't believe it is.
Great list.

Yes you can be fired and you get contract offers whenever your current one finishes but only for NHL teams.
Great list.

That would be too much fun to start as a GM in the CHL and move up. Not explicitly as a structured mode itself, but to have the option of starting off as a GM in any league, and if you choose a lower one you are assigned a prestige rating commensurate with the league you are managing in.
This is all stuff that we've all been batting around here for years, but yes, it's time for GM mode to integrate all of its team and league databases into a playable format. It's the brilliant thing about FIFA's somewhat forgotten career mode.
There is nothing more fun to me than starting out in England's League 2, or some other low league like Ireland, or even in South America and work your way up to a giant club. The progression is infinitely more satisfying, and you experience a nice range of gameplay styles, environments, and end up with a genuinely enjoyable narrative.
Last year in FIFA I went form managing a half star team in the Irish league, to Norway, to Russia, to West Brom in the Championship (relegated), brought them back to the Premier League, got West Brom all the way to European football in the Euro League, and ended up getting offered the job at AC Milan.
So many amazing moments in there like the first game in a bigger league, first game in the Premier League, first time playing clubs like Chelsea and Man Utd after four seasons of managing, playing European football, and finally that first game in charge of one of the iconic brands of world football after seven seasons. The integration of leagues, and gradual progression added unbelievable depth and value to my experience.
Imagine starting as the GM of the Kootenay Ice and after a number of seasons in the WHL, AHL or Europe, you step into the GM office of and NHL team like Columbus, and then eventually the Detroit Red Wings, or the Canadiens, Leafs, etc...? Or, maybe you do so well you have a quick rise, or so poorly you are stuck exiled in Europe. Either way, it's an experience I'd like to have available to me after playing the series for 20+ years.

Amazing. I have never been so excited to count the amount of EA Sports buzzwords in all of my life. I half expect Rammer to talk about how they built the game from the ground up, the atmosphere is going to be amazing, the player's jerseys will actually move, the puck physics have been retooled, we have recorded hours of new commentary, not that it's any good. Finish it off with we can't say everything right now but keep checking for more info throughout the summer.
Do you think they will even mention NHL 15 tomorrow or will it be the name that shall not be spoken?
I'd love to see the connected franchise online league back. I know from reports it doesn't get as much play as the on,I be be a pro. But it was great enjoyment for myself and a few of my close friends running a league. I think that game mode would be much more successful if it were as comprehensive as the offline mode in most years.
