NBA 2K16 Cover Athletes Are Curry, Harden and Durant - Spike Lee Has Role in Career Mode

The early rumor of Spike Lee possibly working with 2K Sports and NBA 2K16 seems to be very real. According to Owen Good of Polygon, Spike Lee will have a role developing the career mode in the game.

Based off of some sources and leaked media, Golden St. Warriors Steph Curry, Houston Rockets James Harden and Oklahoma City Thunder Kevin Durant have been chosen as the cover athletes of the game and will be promoting The new Spike Lee joint "Be the Story" on social media channels.

Last year Kevin Durant was announced as the cover athlete of NBA 2K15 on May 6th, so we could hear something more official in the coming weeks.

I completely and utterly disagree, MyCareer is the perfect vehicle for a sports story mode, it's in the name - MY Career. For a sim heavy version they should just do a player lock version of franchise.

Sounds dope. I don't care who they really work with. I'm more concerned with the fixes that need to be made. The ones that will take the game from good to great to omfg! with no hiccups. It does not have to be perfect, but one that makes me put my controller down and applaud rather than throwing it at the screen. Legitimize those SGOTY tees.

While that's a option. There's numerous reasons not to play MyLeague. I'll name just a few off the head; Some people also want to play Park/Rec, some do not want to control what team they go to, their overall etc. Some want to experience draft workouts and all of that. Grinding for upgrades and badges etc. I could go on and on.

For how scripted MyCareer might or might not be, at least Spike Lee knows basketball and how to script and tell a story.

Spike Lee's involvement in MyCareer makes me wonder if we'll see its story told in the vein of a documentary film. That could be interesting.

Super happy Curry is on the cover. I was expecting his image to be him take a jump shot or driving. That layup he's doing on the cover looks a little weird lol

Crew mode or no buy. They keep adding frilly stuff like pre-game crossed eyed Shaq and keep taking away from the actual game.

Park is cool. It's basically like pickup games in 2K10/11. It's a good way to recruit players for crew and when you just want to play w/ randoms or people that's not in your crew. Just remove the Jordan Rec and bring back crew.

Silly we've been begging for crew for years and they always find a way to disappoint. First it was that fake "Crews" and now when most people goes to X1 and PS4, they just put it on last gen, really lol? Hopefully 2K16 is it's time finally.

As a MyCareer only player I never once experienced the pre-game and I would love it if it was in the Career mode too.

I realize it will sound dumb, but create a team being in the game or not will have a huge influence in me getting the game, I play only offline and locally with friends we organize awesome tournaments, and the less customization they allow is really sad.

I have truly regreted buying this game, and in general switching to nextgen, but thats another story
