NBA 2K15 News Post

Having trouble earning particular badges in NBA 2K15? NBA 2K Producer Zach Timmerman has just sent us the requirements for each one of them.

Key Notes
  • Simulating games will not count towards earning badges. You must play the games to meet the requirements.
  • Only one badge can be earned in MyPark / Jordan Rec Center (Swagger).
  • Badges can be earned by playing on any difficulty.
  • Unless specifically noted, any position can earn any badge.
  • Unlike what many believe, having the Cool and Collected or Volume Shooter badges will not prevent you from getting “hot” (which is required to earn Unfazed and Microwave).
  • Getting ejected or fouling out of a game will not impact your ability to earn badges.
  • For the ankle breaker dribble move badges, like Killer Crossover, you’ll generally have better luck earning them if you try the moves when you’re within 25 feet of the basket.
  • When earning a badge requires you to meet the requirements “in a single season”, it means just that. You cannot carry over stats or games played to the next season to earn the badge.

It wasn't till after game 15 of my trying for it did it unlock.

You can get hot a number of ways. It can be on either side of the ball also. So if you're concerned about your shot count, lock down on D. Get a ton of steals, blocks, tipped passes, forced turnovers, etc.

On the offensive end, anything can take a warm player to hot that raises your grade. Try a long 'Unlimited Range' 3. Any big dunk, work on Posterizer perhaps. Alley oops, either passing or finishing. Assists are huge. But always be the focal point when the offense scores. If you take even 1 trip down court and get no positive teammate grades for the score, you can lose your hot streak. Run all plays through you. Pass to assist counts as a positive play and will keep your streak going.
Sorry, reposting this (3rd time) for those asking about 'Unfazed' & 'Microwave'. I tried for both of these starting my 1st season and without volume shooter. Got both inside the 15 game recommendation. I didn't get VS till I was trying for Deadeye.

I got unfazed somehow without trying when I was trying to get hotspots all over the court. I've had microwave and volume shooter for the longest time but I only got unfazed recently. I was playing on rookie ****** shooting 3s to get those hotspots.

So would that be a quicker way of getting badges? Turning the difficulty down to rookie for a game or two?

I'm still having the hardest time getting posterizer even with 95 dunk and I'd like to knock out a few badges in a game or two.

Yeah that's what pretty much everyone does lol. Posterizer it's smart to use the right stick to perform flashy dunks. More posterizers happen that way.

If you're only out to farm badges then yes, turn your settings to rookie/ ******. For unfazed & microwave I used those settings with 12 minute 1/4ers.

For deadeye you'll obviously have to move your difficulty up to HOF or SS just to draw in the defense. I've heard using sim instead of ****** as well.

For dribbling badges, my settings were rookie, ******, 6 min 1/4ers, with game speed at 75. I don't like game speed higher than 80. Gets too hard to stay under control for me. With those settings you can blast through games more quickly and rack up the stats you need.

Posterizer is tough because after a few attempts your player becomes tired and the defense adjusts with double teaming you off the pick & roll. Focus on 5 solid attempts to start the 1st 5 trips down the court. After half time give it another few shots. Sprinkle in a few more attempts after several assists.

Awesome tips/advice I will try that out. I really just want to grind out badges right now because I just started MC (I switched over to X1 from PS4). I just want to enjoy the rest of my season and next season without having to worry too much about getting badges and focus on winning.

I wouldn't really care about posterizer except for the fact that it's nice to have occasionally for flashy dunks and it's good for And-one trips.

The dribbling ones should be fairly easy to get I assume, I have the master of in and out one I think already.

It will be weird not playing on Sim and SS/HOF for once!

For Posterizer, make sure you un-equip all dunks that are not tomahawks. Purchase an equip only tomahawks. 1 hand, 2 hand, Uber, all tomahawks only. Remember to change back to the dunk packages you like afterwards. You'll get chase down blocked a ton using them in the Park.

Dribbling badges will take you between 1-3 games each. Just only focus on one dribble discipline each game. Don't juggle them, it will take longer.

On Rookie there's a good chance you'll average in the 40's at least.

Got Dimer on all positions now. I still never got Unfazed when I redid my PF. I got it the first time on my PF and every other position.

I only see that message when I save the ball from going out of bounds.
I have unlocked it the best way is to get hot on defense and tap square towards baseline or the wing and use triangle instead of square. Took 4 games to get all four. Pray that your lucky.

I have a few questions:

How much does Hustle Points help in the Park/Rec? It seems like it'd be really helpful especially for a big man, curious for those that have it if you noticed finishing a lot better?

Is it harder to get Deadeye on a center? I want Deadeye but don't want to get Volume Shooter it'll be pretty hard I'm assuming?

For the dribble badges, do I need to let the whole animation play out? Or can I just spam the dribble move?

# 353 Snubby @ 02/14/15 11:37 PM
For unfazed do you have to play all 15 games?

# 354 SCAxSteff @ 02/15/15 06:10 AM
I somehow cant get brickwall on my SF. Started my rookie year and got Scree Outletafter a few games but didnt go for brickwall right after it cause i was under 80 strength. But in the Playoffs is played like 11 games setting picks every posession and nothing. Now second season (changed team) 8 games in still nothing despite starting every posession with a "good on-ball screen".
Advice?
Also Deadeye is taking me pretty long right now... whats the best way to get a jumper well contested? i play SS standard btw

# 355 SCAxSteff @ 02/15/15 06:49 AM
well and of course i have 80 strength since before the playoffs.
83

You can spam the dribble move. If you perform the dribble rapidly it will finish the 1st dribble animation then go into the next dribble animation. The input lag is crazy in this game.

The drawback of spamming the dribble moves, like I said, is it will send you into back court violations without allowing you to bail out of the dribble.

Yes. I started with unfazed & microwave on day 1 of my career post patch 3. I went through two 10 day contracts and finally got signed. I got my 3rd (4 consecutive minute minimum) hot game on game 11 of the season. It did not unlock till after I played in my 15th game of the season. I did not have a 4 minute min. hot game in games 12 through 15.
