MLB 15 The Show News Post

The official MLB The Show Twitter account has announced Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder, Yasiel Puig as the cover athlete for MLB 15 The Show. Check out the full PlayStation 4 cover here.

UPDATE: As mentioned by a few OSers in this thread, Puig is shown on the cover with Nike gloves and Nike bands on his forearms. Could Nike finally make an appearance this year? It definitely looks like a good possibility.

This marks the 10 year anniversary of the franchise and SCEA plans to reveal some more news this weekend, at the PlayStation Experience.

Oscar Taveras would have been a good option I think.

It wouldn't be so bad if Puig wouldn't be all over the menus...

Should have been Corey Kluber or Michael Brantley.

Very well could be, i'm pretty sure in previous versions, if a player had nike on any of their gear on the cover, they'd remove it

Ex. No Nike sign on Cutch's gloves

Ex. No Nike sign on Lawrie's gloves

And Lawrie and Cutch both wear nike gloves, and those are clearly Nike gloves with the logo removed.

So it's very possible this year, unless it was just an oversight by whoever made the cover.

I wouldn't worry about how the cover will look next year. They did a similar thing with Cabrera last year; showing the back of his jersey when they first announced who would be on the cover. I'm sure we'll get a better version with some kind of baseball related activity.

Additionally, I think Puig is a logical choice and I'm not surprised by it at all. Remember all the pre-release things he did last year with 14?

Although, I think a Gwynn, Heyward, or Taveras cover could be in my future.

I'm not bothered by who's on the cover but rather how poorly made it is.

I don't get it, do people really skip games because who's on a cover???!!! Maybe I don't care because I can't really see it anyway.

Don't worry, the Indians are doing a good job of rebuilding. I'm sure you'll be winning a ring soon enough

Hmm I hope you're right. I don't remember if the covers were the same as the previews in previous years. If they fix the pose than the choice is alright by me.

Can you show me where someone said that?

The more I think about it, to me Puig represents The Show to a tee. Sometimes I see a great player if not one of the best in the game. Other times I see him and I think this guy is a amateur at best.

With The Show sometimes I think this is the greatest game of all time. And other times I want to pull my hair out and throw my copy of the game out the window.

Puig=The Show

Not a fan of this choice, way better options. Custom cover this year for me!

This has not changed my likelyness to buy the game at all, I'm looking at the Tv when I play, not the box

Really thought they would finally pick a giant this year after winning 3 of the last 5. Was hoping for madbum or pence or really anyone else. Oh well, still buying regardless, I'll just shutter every time i pop the game in.....j/k

I don't know why put Puig on the cover. I thought Madison Bumgarner would be the top choice with the way he dominated the playoff and World series. If you going to put a Dodger player on, at least put the best player on that team (Kershaw).
