NHL 15 News Post

My familiar team of five had been waiting since August for this day, when Online Team Play would finally be patched into the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of NHL 15.

Yet last night, none of my longtime EASHL teammates came home with a new copy of NHL 15, after learning that we could not join the same lobby or send each other match invitations in this "next-gen" version of Online Team Play.

Wasn't that the whole point of Online Team Play, to begin with -- you and your boys challenging cliques from around the world? I thought so, but apparently, EA Canada thought otherwise.

I started up NHL 15 latest version today and tried OTP. I can't find a camera view which allows me to see myself on the ice except when the puck is near me. I play mostly defense so I can rarely see myself. One of the way zoomed out camera's might work, but I want to be closer, like on xBox 360.

People are upset because it came out on time but is still months behind, and even after that won't have the variety of game modes that the last-gen version had. It seems to have become the SOP of game companies now that everyone is online to release games in whatever state they are in around release date, but then patch in things as needed. Problem is, EA has never been particularly adept at patching their games.
People are regularly trying to get gameplay back through sliders and tuners to what the game was like at launch, and things like the bouncing puck from last season get patched into the game, and never removed, despite numerous complaints.
EA's focus seems to be set squarely on HUT because it brings them the extra cash, but honestly, they're losing sight of the long-term picture, and alienating a lot of previous fans in the process. They constantly drop the ball and just kick it down the street with the possibility of picking it up for the next game release.
EA's only in a no-win situation of their own making, thanks to shady PR, and an all-around poor release in general.
