People are upset because it came out on time but is still months behind, and even after that won't have the variety of game modes that the last-gen version had. It seems to have become the SOP of game companies now that everyone is online to release games in whatever state they are in around release date, but then patch in things as needed. Problem is, EA has never been particularly adept at patching their games.
People are regularly trying to get gameplay back through sliders and tuners to what the game was like at launch, and things like the bouncing puck from last season get patched
into the game, and never removed, despite numerous complaints.
EA's focus seems to be set squarely on HUT because it brings them the extra cash, but honestly, they're losing sight of the long-term picture, and alienating a lot of previous fans in the process. They constantly drop the ball and just kick it down the street with the possibility of picking it up for the next game release.
EA's only in a no-win situation of their own making, thanks to shady
PR, and an all-around poor release in general.
