NBA 2K15 News Post

2K has just released the NBA 2K15 patch for PC users. They also posted all of the details on Steam.
  • Made a number of stability fixes to improve the quality of the MyPARK experience, and online as a whole.
  • Controller/Keyboard bindings will now properly function in MyPARK.
  • Addressed an issue where the game would experience frame rate stuttering in certain situations.
  • The correct animation will now be shown in Edit Player when scrolling through the available list of animations.
  • Fixed an issue where the user who invited would sometimes hang at the conclusion of a playoff game in Online Leagues.
  • Fixed an issue where some users were experiencing hangs when attempting to create/join an Online League with a custom roster.
  • Addressed an issue in MyGM/MyLEAGUE where, in certain cases, the game would not allow the user to exceed 13 players during the free agency period of the offseason.
  • The keyboard should now properly detect input game-wide when a controller is also being used simultaneously.
  • Fixed an issue where in-game models would appear green/yellow on certain GPUs.
  • Fixed a rare hang that would occur when changing the in-game language from the Options menu.
  • Corrected an issue where black ‘blobs’ would appear in replay on certain system configurations.
  • Fixed a rare occurrence where Doris Burke would warp off the screen prior to an on-court interview with a player/coach.
  • Users are now able to re-watch 2KTV episodes that have already been watched to completion.
  • Added support for users attempting to play with a GeForce 320M GPU.

Restart your Steam client to get it. Should be around ~80MBs. Let me know if you have any feedback on the game's performance (micro-stuttering) and stability (if you crashed before). PC specific fixes and optimizations are included.

Notes:
  • Under "%appdata%\2K Sports\NBA 2K15\" you'll find a file called VideoSettingsHelp.txt, containing instructions on how to mess around with the VideoSettings.cfg file if you're feeling adventurous. A set of new tweaking options was added to the file, and all settings, new and old, have descriptions in the help file along with the values and what each one does, as well as helpful recommendations based on your system.
  • Small correction to VideoSettingsHelp.txt (thanks jay-r): The explanation for the EFFECTLOD setting is reversed. 0 is ON, 1 is OFF.
  • If the game crashes, you should now see a CrashReport.txt file under the same folder. Posting it as an attachment in a reply should help us track down the issue.

Downloading now. PC patch up before console? What is this world?!

As it should be Drewski....we don't have to deal with M$ or Sony....unless Steam has the same rules as those two when it comes to patches....

So far no stuttering seen and replays don't seem nerfed lol

# 6 Goffs @ 10/21/14 06:59 PM
Yep looks like microstuttering was eliminated! It's nice and smooth

At a minimum, there are definitely big performance improvements in this patch. Pre-patch I had settled in a 4, 4 antialiasing setup, but now I can do 8-16 with no gameplay frame drop and at least 30 FPS in cutscenes. If I go back to 4,4 it's 60 in everything.

did they fix the controller vibration issue?

Any official patch notes of everything changed?

I noticed the free throw release display moved to the left.

Still not seeing overlays that seem like they should be popping (commentary guys start talking about what a player ranks in a particular stat, no graphic to accompany it). Most noticeable after a time out.

Post patch it's playing much better for me. I've been playing on minimum settings, everything low, antialiasing level 1 and special effects off and it has been just playable. But now with the patch it seems smooth.

I'm wondering which settings i should try to bump up to see if it is still playable at a higher level. I'm mainly wanting the hair and facial hair quality to be improved and to have better clothing textures. Any tips?

This isn't the big patch bcruise

I'm not noticing any vibration in my wired 360 controller. Tried a couple other games just to confirm it was working (it was)

Yeah, at 77 MB I didn't figure it was. Was this only for PC - specific stuff then? (like the performance optimizations)?

# 15 23 @ 10/21/14 08:51 PM
Well that and some online stuff just like consoles. I'm not sure of the notes so I'm not baking things I just know this one leftos personally reached out to us at nlsc for a solution.

I'm on 8 and 32, running smoothly with everything on high. Skin textures look incredible. Problem is that the pigpen hair is still there. And what is really weird is that is only on live gameplay, not cutscenes. Hopefully this is something for the big patch. I'm just geeked that it finally plays smooth. Man, this is one beautiful game!

Same here, everything on Minimum and it's playing smoothly. Too bad my laptop is not built for gaming but at least it's more playable now
