Pigpen hair. MS Paint hair.... yeah that by itself is classic.

I think that has everything to do with the similar architecture between this generation of consoles and PC - probably makes it so much easier to produce a PC patch compared to previous generations.

Agree that it's a great thing to see PC finally getting near-equal treatment (there's that little facescan thing, but I can live without for the mod potential )

I had it at 8 last night. It ran, but the skin started to have that plastic look. I was playing with it to see if the hair would fix itself. I actually am hoping the next WHQL NVidia driver has some optimizations for this and Fifa. I ended up going back to defaults this morning, as Fifa got choppy with all my tweaks for this game. Think I'm going to play around with a custom for this until then. I've gotta see if I can pull 32x CSAA.

Well, I got it up to 16x AF, 32x CSAA and 4x Supersample, and it didn't crash!
Triple Buffering, Quality on Texture Filtering, Trilinear Optimization, Adaptive V Sync and Max power management.

Funny thing is, the more I throw at it, the smoother it plays. I'm having a bit of slowdown on cutscenes, but totally smooth gameplay. A little more driver work on NVidia's part, and I'm in hog heaven!

That is insane man

New NVIDIA drivers just came out and I'm trying to figure out how to use DSR with NBA 2k15......it's not showing up on GEFORCE EXPERIENCE....

Here we go. Hope these work!

Brian if you get DSR to work for 2k15 let me know...

Although the frame rate is okay on medium to high graphics settings settings, I get a lot of weird delays.
Like the announcers or the stadium speaker announcing things several seconds too late. Or during free throws the camera might stick to some sideline scene it was showing and I don't see the player who is supposed to shoot the FT.

Patch definitely optimized the game for me, I've been able to Bump up texture detail to high and turn special effects back on. The dynamic vsync setting has really smoothed out my cutscenes too.

The only place I get any stuttering is in scrimmage mode.. For some reason that's a choppy mess.

i7 4790, GTX 770 and 8GB RAM

Played with videosettings in %appdata% / user / nba2k15: 1920/1080p, put everything on max with only supersampling on 1 out of 4. Anyone with 4GB of Vram or more will be able to put it on 3 or 4, although it's not necessary as aliasing is not a problem in this game.

My experience is buttery smooth now, wasn't that bad pre-patch, so now I can enjoy my experience to the fullest.

I have two gripes though. No court reflections and kind of dull lighting in arenas. Hope modders can help.

Have fun!

I set the FSAA=1, VSYNC=0 and BUFFER_COUNT=1
now I have a slight graphical stutter, but the weird delays have been reduced.

Maybe I just need a better CPU

Seems maybe it's time get a new Vcard for me. I have two HD5700's in crossfire and can't run the game with special effects on without it stuttering. I have 12 GB of ram. Any ideas?

RAM only gets you so far. The game will cache a certain amount of data in RAM, but beyond that you can have as many excess RAM as you want, it won't help you. If you don't have enough of it, swapping to the hard drive will occur, which is a major performance hit. 4-8GB of RAM is more than enough for this game.

Important are also the specs of your graphics card. A more modern GPU will have more VRAM to hold texture and mesh data, better throughput for that data and more shader units (processors) to compute that data.

What's your CPU ?

I agree that your GPUs are the bottleneck for you.
On what settings do you run the game currently ?

This is from my VideoSettings.cfg file.

WIDTH = 1920

DYNAMIC_VSYNC = 0
LETTERBOX = 1
CURSOR_IDLE_TIME = 5
WINDOWMODE = 0
WINDOW_X = -2147483648
WINDOW_Y = -2147483648
MSAA = 8
MSAAQUALITY = 0
SUPERSAMPLE = 0
MONITOR = 0
MAXANISOTROPY = 16
TEXTURELOD = 1
PLAYERLOD = 1
CROWDLOD = 2
EFFECTLOD = 1
SHADERLOD = 1
ABOVE_NORMAL_PRIORITY = 1
D3D_INTERNAL_THREADING_OPTIMIZATIONS = 1
FAST_TEXTURE_FORMAT_CONVERSION = 0
DYNAMIC_ENVIRONMENT_MAP = 1
JIT_SHADER_CREATE = 0
ADAPTER = 0
ADAPTER_DESCRIPTION = AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series
ADAPTER_DEDICATED_VIDEO_MEMORY = 2,118,729,728

ADAPTER_VENDOR_ID = 0x1002
ADAPTER_DEVICE_ID = 0x68b8
ADAPTER_SUBSYSTEM_ID = 0x1482174b

...

I am certainly trying to run it full max. If the key is a new video card(s) I will go buy a new one. Just want to make sure I have done everything I can to get it to work right. Thank you very much your help.

I just downloaded a second update about 2 minutes ago. Any idea what it could be?

# 59 Leftos @ 10/23/14 11:31 PM
As posted here:

With the help of the crash reports provided by the community through the first patch released 2 days ago along with other bug reports on PC-specific issues that didn't have their fixes make it into the first patch, we have just released a second patch to Steam containing PC-specific fixes for crashes and other issues.

Among known issues fixed in this patch is a fix for a boot-up crash with some audio chipsets, a fix for controller vibration and a fix for a glitch on the hair of some players. Other minor fixes are also included.

Let me know if your issue has been resolved or whether it persists. Remember, we're talking PC-specific issues (so crashing, stuttering, hair textures, etc.), no other fixes are contained in this patch. For other fixes that I've mentioned are in the pipeline, there will be a future bigger patch for all platforms, but there is no ETA on that.

A sincere thank you for your help as we try to make the PC experience the best one yet.

If you get a crash and you haven't posted it in the Crash Reports thread, that's the right place to do it. Crash reports in this thread might be overlooked. Do not post the same issue in both threads. Thank you.

Thank you for this Leftos! You guys created an awesome game this year and obviously you don't want little things ruining it. Great job!
