NHL 15 News Post

The planned October content update for NHL 15 has arrived for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users. It includes the addition of OTP and the all new NHL entry draft. Unfortunately for OTP users, you can't play with friends, OTP is used for ranked matches.

According to quite a few users, the third jerseys don't appear to be in the game, but they are listed in the update.

UPDATE: According to djblue, if you download the latest roster update, you will see the third jerseys.

You can view the entire list of fixes and additions below. Let us know what you are seeing.

Online Team Play

Play online with up to ten players, locked to a single position using real-world rosters. These matches will be 5v5 ranked with AI controlled goalies.

Be a GM - Rookie Draft

For the first time in the NHL franchise, you will be put on the clock and feel the pressure like a real NHL GM. As they do at the NHL Entry Draft, you have three minutes to make a draft pick.

If the pressure is too much, you can also call timeouts to extend the amount of time you have to make a draft pick or potentially negotiate a trade. You can make trades at any time during the draft. The CPU will also propose trades to each other and the user throughout the course of the draft.

I had been so ticked off with this game after all the updates - it played great right at release too. I hadn't played it in quite some time.

Since this latest patch and the latest roster update/last tuner, I just had THE BEST GAME I've ever had with current gen NHL 15. Thanks to an OS member and me laying off the left trigger, no more spin-o-rama either.

Played Vancouver at home and it was such a fun, messy game of hockey. I tied the game at 3 with 50 seconds left as it went off a Canucks player's stick and past Miller. We lost in OT, but shots were 37-34 Vancouver, hits were 18-17 Vancouver and there were 7 total penalties, 4 PP's for Vancouver and 3 for us. It was just a fun experience, loose pucks everywhere (I have no idea if going from authentic size puck back to normal does anything, but it seemed to me like the puck physics were different, could just be in my head).

Passing was Vancouver 77% and us 67%. It really felt like hockey again though.. so thanks to EA for the latest updates. I hope they don't go back to the previous tuners/patch settings.

I think it's safe to start a BeaGM season again and my copy of last gen hockey is going to suffer as long as the game stays like it is now.

Well done EA!

Happy to hear this because I just ordered the game! Are you playing with certain sliders that you would recommend?

That's good to hear but it's hard for me to play this game offline/franchise. I've played it in past versions that it seems like I'm just playing nhl 11/12/13/14 all over again. It feels like that because offline they've not really changed the whole overall experience.

I just wish they would fix online. I know HUT offline is not there this year, but couldn't they just add some offline tourney's? How hard is that to do? But i know they are now done with 15 and are working on 16.

Was hoping for two-player online vs
Really hope they add this with another patch.

I'm digging the new draft. Though i did notice an insane amount of goalies drafted in the 1st round, though that could have just been a random potential thing(1st year)

Agree with this. Since today's update I've had 3 great games. Everything feels better now. Just wish they would add season goal totals now!!

I thought you were making fun of me for complaining about that lol. I love knowing how many goals players have once they score and their picture comes up

Me too.. all the little stuff with last gen needs added back. It's these "little" things that really help with immersion!

I'm just on All Star/Hardcore defaults, 10 minute periods with penalties/fighting maxed on the first screen as well as authentic post whistle rules. In the game settings I also max CPU penalties and CPU AI penalties. I also match the Human strategy settings to match the CPU strategy settings (+4) so the AI changes those for me and use auto aim (user preference).

I'm back to dynamic medium camera with authentic shadow and normal puck size.

After 8 OTP games, this thing is a design disaster.

The games are nothing but constant pausing, fighting, offsides, penalties, and people spamming the line change/strategy select buttons. There would be even more penalties if the game actually called interference away from the play correctly, but instead, you can collide with anyone on the ice, and you won't get a penalty so long as you weren't pressing the body checking button.

This mess is what happens when we're forced to play with the unwashed masses instead of being allowed to join up with our friends. If you were planning on getting this game for OTP, please don't. Just keep playing the Xbox 360/PS3 version with your friends and you'll have a lot more fun.

I also had a great game this morning. Me Redwings vs CPU penguins.

I went up 1-0 in the first. They scored in the 2nd, 1-1. I scored in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd to go up 2-1. Then with about 45 seconds to go in the period the penguins were pressuring me and got the tying goal. I wasn't really that happy about the tying goal but whatever. They attacked the left side of the goal relentlessly and the score occurred because the goalie decided to wander away from the net...again whatever.

Because it led to me digging the puck out of my own end with 12 seconds left and feeding it out to the edge and then across ice to a charging Zetterbe who threw a deke on the defender and then flipped a wrister top shelf for the go ahead goal.

Most fun game I have had so far.

This is what gets me...EA pushes so hard for this wonderful make believe online paradise we all would love to game in. Except it doesn't exist when you game with randoms and they should certainly know this just by examining their twitter feeds.

What on earth would make EA think random people would be civil and behave realistically in an online game mode? The FIFA, NHL, and Madden twitters are hilarious in their absurdity, a constant barrage of your game is weak and broken followed by EA twitter responses of Sorry ad nauseum.

What sliders and settings are you using? Never mind, saw your reply above.

By the way, one of the opening cut scenes outside the Scottrade shows a cop working traffic - I used to do that. I no longer live in St Louis since I retired but have a Blues franchise starting. Saw my first Blues game as a teenager, now eligible for senior discounts everywhere, still no Stanley Cup.

I wish I could like your post 10 times. What an absolute JOKE. Goddang EA get your heads out of your arse!!

Why would I want to play with 8 other random, immature kids + 1 decent/mature like minded gamer? I dont! I want to play with MY FREAKING FRIEND'S!! You know, the thing we've been able to do for years now. Or, the concept of everything being connected, and sharing, and multiplayer....unbelievable. I'm so tired of this crap...it's disgusting to be honest.

And they had AN ENTRY EXTRA YEAR to develop for next-gen.
