All the new categories in the player's ratings was posted earlier and im trying to figure out what they actually mean.

PnR Defense IQ
Help Defense IQ
Pass Perception

I have an idea about them but not 100% sure. Does a high rating PNR defense IQ mean you won't get caught up on the pick as much? Does Help defense IQ mean determine how quick you help on defense? And what about Pass Perception, does that control if you will be good or bad at intercepting passes?

If anyone has an idea please let me know what you think?
Your breakdown is what I would assume as well but just like POE's I'd love a dev to break it all down for us because what it says and how it's coded to play in game could be 2 totally different things then what you would think.

Wow I missed that. I would think PnR D IQ would determine if TE player executes the defense correctly, meaning are they in the proper position. Will a big hedge or not or will a guard know whether to go over/under a screen etc.

Help D IQ probably has to do with how active a help defender is when there are defensive breakdowns and whether he knows when to help and when to stay at home.

Pass perception? You got me. Maybe how well a player gets in the passing lanes? Or how aware a player is of passes near him?

These sound like great additions.

Thanks, i think most of what you said was spot on. Im excited about these new ratings. Would love if a dev or even Czar weighed in on this.

But the basic flex has set rules and you can run it with either down screens or back screens.

The common areas between both is they both always have a triangle on the strong side and both are a 4 out 1 in offense. They both also have all 5 players that can end up on the inside and outside in all positions on the floor. The original set up is a bit different and spacing is a bit higher in the swing offense though. In the swing you will see back screens, flares, and weak side interchanges a bit more as well as more ball screens.

Both have continuity and some same basic principles and can look the same depending on reads or calls you make within the play itself. Though somewhat similar in areas they are also very different. You could also say the same thing and see some common areas with the triangle too depending how you run it.

Edit: here is a link of basic motion offenses and you can see the basic differences between the two... http://www.hoopsu.com/basketball-pla...-offense-sets/

Thank you, I really appreciate the response.

Hi Czar- These changes to offense sound phenomenal!

Two quick questions as I am new to NBA 2K.

1. I realized a lot of the plays in NBA 2K14 (Next-Gen) seemed to be broken. Since you went in an completely re-wrote all the plays I assume they will work as intended this year?

2. Is the AI coded to run more plays this year? I did not notice the AI teams running plays very often on next-gen 2K14. (This could be because many of them were broken and did not work properly when the AI tried to use them)

Will the AI in 2K15 run plays more often or will they primarily use the "free lance offense"?

Thanks in advance! Very excited for 2k15!

Wow Czar, reading all this improvement to the playbooks is lovely! So you guys were even able to improve the classic teams playbooks also as far as close to there real plays and the actual movement and spacing?

mmmm...Triangle Offense......Now I really can't wait until I run the Triangle with my '91 Bulls!!!. Thank you Czar, this is a start for better things to come. Still has room for improvement.

Improved Triangle Offense is better than nothing at all. Thank you Czar.

I remember saying 5 years ago that the game needs a freelance offence system, not just set plays. In my mind it was a simple thing to implement.

I now know better.

I've been wanting a freelance system like this for 4 years now. With POE's and freelance system my dream has come true. But as you said, not easy to implement as we probably thought

Looking absolutely amazing man!!! Just picked up a PS4 today so finally going next gen with 2K. Can't wait to see the triangle in motion! Be rocking the 96 Bulls in true fashion!

To be 'That guy' though - has anyone addressed the difference in player models/game looks when the footage switches to the classic teams? The legend teams surely don't look that bad on next gen, right........? They looked shockingly bad. All too skinny and the jerseys were horrendous!

Yeah, I know....'That guy'.

Holup, holup, holup.... What's this POE feature? I think I've overlooked this part!

Missed something here - how do we get the freelance offense to initiate?

Don't call plays

Just be patient and look to pass the ball around

Is there a way for the user to choose what type of freelance offense we want to run?

Last year you could choose 3 out 2 in or 4 out 1 in etc.. I can't find a way to change this.

Yep in your POE I believe
