I think the lack of buildup is directly related to the CPU speed.

Because they are faster than your players there is no reason to build up play.

Some slider changes (slowing the CPU down) may force the CPU to build up, hopefully they adapt to a slower speed instead of just trying the same tactics they are doing now and losing possession because they aren't as quick.

No, unfortunately it's hardcoded behaviour. I've tried lowering cpu speed and acceleration and in general I have tried every cpu slider combination with no good results.
There is no midfield play in this game for years and the most bizarre thing is that the reviewers don't even mention this in their annual reviews. In the other hand I see dozens of threads and posts about licenses, socks and boots and there is even a whole thread for the new sign of MLS. This is not football. This is pure videogaming marketing. If EA wants to convert this one to some online panini fantasy cards game with microtransactions, sorry but as a pure offline gamer I won't give them my money.

Rats.

Well, maybe when the PC version comes out some PC cat can snag the AI files from 15 and compare them to 14.

I really would like to know the differences between 14 and 15 with all of the under the hood AI stuff coupled with the addition of beginner mode sort of bumping all difficulties up a notch.

For anyone who has bought Cavani in Career Mode.... I'm curious what the transfer fee came out to? He'll be my first buy for Arsenal. Already saw Pogba go for about 24 million and Verane for 18 million. Want all 3.

I'm fairly new to soccer/football so please forgive the novice question here:

Is midfield play more than just being challenged in midfield for possession or attempting to shut down your ability to pass to players further up the pitch? When I play FIFA 14, if I bump up the marking slider for the CPU, I get lots of tussles in midfield. I know many smarter and more experienced than me have thought of that, so I'd like to know what would be the desired state of midfield play in FIFA 15.

Thanks.

I'm getting SMOKED online...

Maybe it's because just the hardcore guys playing right now. But I'm like 0-2-4. So frustrating lol

Agree with you on all of these fronts. I'm hesitant to purchase this game to be honest after playing the demo enough. EA has already been on my **** list after what the did to NHL this year.

I have the retail cooy and it plays a lot better than the demo. This is te best represses ruin of any sport in a video game I have ever seen.

Played my 1st online seasons match as Everton, other guy was Arsenal. The reason I do not play online, back and forth and super fast, but I managed a beautiful chip shot by lukaku from a assist by mirallas to go up 1-0. Held on entire 2nd half to win it, 1-0 record!

Is CPU vs CPU available in Manager Mode or Tournament Mode?

What do you mean "faster than your players" because if you're insinuating that the CPU players have some sort of speed boost not ratings related then I completely disagree, and come release will prove it with video evidence. You can slow the CPU, stay goal side and defend, cut passing lanes, and retain your shape(as best you can anyway). As I came to grips with the fact that you can no longer spam the X button and then tackle, defending became much more rewarding and became about forcing bad passes etc.

Just had Aguero go down with a broken leg first friendly match of the pre season. He's out for 6 months!

Agreed orion,

You know what spamming the X and B buttons did for me? Playing as Man City, 3-0 Chelsea at HT.

At least the transfer market is still open to bring in an affordable replacement. unless you disabled the 1st window...

I think there is something to the CPU being a bit faster to the ball than the USER, even if the USER plays the passing lanes properly. They aren't faster by much, but enough to impact the game. I'd set the CPU sprint speed AND acceleration at 1 tick lower than the USER. I've been doing that since FIFA 13 and I think it helps balance the play.

So I noticed that my Fifa 14 pro clubs "pro" was imported for me on first load of FIFA 15.

which also imported my high socks on my pro... I hope this remains the case as I was not looking forward to doing the whole gifting ordeal again just for my high socks.

although I didn't play as my club mates haven't gotten back from work, hoping that it doesn't default my player back to normal height socks when I first join an actual match.

also randomly happened to have loaded my longsleeve undershirt as well, don't mind having that but once I unlock regular long sleeves I'll switch back.

cool if it doesn't default.

I think this game is almost broken in one fundamental way. In the games I've played on various settings, with various sliders, I'm only seeing between 1 and 5 square or back passes being made by the CPU in a given game. Oftentimes, when a back pass is the smart play, the CPU will just dribble backwards and then pass forwards. This seems to result in the CPU giving up possession too easy in some settings or CPU dribbling and passing becoming over-powered so they can go forward in others.

Need to test more teams and more scenarios when the full retail is playable, but it's frustrating. This was an issue last year, but at least with teams like Barcelona, when they wanted to park the bus, you'd see some sensible passing square and backward. I played a game against Man City and I think they had one pass go backward.

Not to get into a whole debate, but in the PES demo, you'll routinely see 15+ square or back passes to help keep possession, switch the field and build from the back.

Why do the nets tilt when a goal is scored? Looks weird
