NBA 2K15 News Post

A YouTube user who was lucky enough to get advanced PR data for NBA 2K15 has perhaps revealed a few key new details about this year's game from both the MyTEAM and MyCAREER modes.

Here is the exact information posted in the video:

MyTEAM:

Buy, earn, and collect valuable cards then sell them to other players and friends.
  • Gold Cards.
  • Unique Cards.
  • Booster Packs.
  • Classic Card Packs.
  • Special Challenges.
MyCAREER:

MyCAREER lets you take your MyPLAYER on a hero's journey from undrafted rookie to unlikely MVP to undisputed Hall of Fame superstar and get advice from legendary coaches and players every step of the way.
  • Upgrade Stats.
  • Buy clothes/shoes.
  • Complete challenges.
  • Become Great

Now obviously, all of this isn't officially announced so it's possible any of the above details aren't final and could actually not be in the game. However, both sections tend to indicate big changes for each mode, with MyTEAM featuring an auction house of some kind and MyCAREER possibly taking you the route of an undrafted rookie.

What do you think about each section?

Undrafted does that mean we start off with like a 55ovr or something even if I go ham in the rookie show case or whatever they have this year. Sounds like an interesting story though

If this info is accurate, I'm not too sure how I feel about the new MyCareer. I really hoped for an experience like nba 2k10 or 2k11 but with the option to be a role player a sixth man or something, you shouldn't have to be a superstar player. But it is what it is I know I will still be logging in a lot of time in MyCareer as well as MyLeague and MyGM. Going to be a fun year.

That undrafted thing is true, it was on steam's description too, idk about the MYTeam but I am happy if auction house is back

Need to change the title, not everyone wants to know.

Spoiler alert or something.

Lots of good news coming out, assuming this is true.

Hopefully if they make us start undrafted we wont have to do the rookie showcase. No point playing it if your performance wont influence where you go.

Not sure about this undrafted idea, one of the great things about MyPlayer was not being unable to control who drafted you outside of your performance. I don't want to either pick my team or be randomly assigned, that just feels lazy.

I just hope you can finally hit the FA market in your MyCareer. I want to experience how it is to be Overpaid

This was discussed a week or so ago. I don't know how I feel about being undrafted because this sounds more like a storyline like 2K14 but times 10.

It might be a story or a new way for the user to get to a team that they're interested in playing for. So rather than using the whole 'manipulating your GM' method, you might be able to list a few teams that you want to do a workout with to see if they'll sign you. This sounds interesting, but I also hope it means that if this is a story, its less linear than 2k14.

Going undrafted should be one of the options we have and it should have a few paths we can take based on our performance in game. I'm not interested in the whole superstar heroball thing anymore, so I'm also hoping that going undrafted means we'll have a level of control over our roles to the team. All in all, I'm getting pretty pumped as we get closer to the release. Can't wait for some more information on MyCareer.

All I know is Jackson Ellis better not be in this as my rival talking smack after I trashed him all last year lol

The irony of people that post in thread about how much they have no interest in the subject of the thread. Anyway. Is this info reliable?

That reminds me.

After the draft happens, Jackson Ellis really disappoints as a rival.

I mean, yeah, you go after each other before the Rookie Showcase, but after that, you two are almost on GOOD terms. Every time you meet at center court when your two teams play each other, he seems like just another guy in the league, except this one you can talk to.

I don't know about you, but personally, I'd like it if the two players HATED each other, and took it out on each other on the court. Trash-talking in cutscenes like Jordan or Reggie Miller would. Obviously they can't use profanity (I highly doubt 2K wants a Teen rating on their cash cow), but I can live with that.

But hey, that's just me. And as I said before, what's MOST important is that the game PLAYS well on the court. If it doesn't play well on the court, then you can have any number of modes you want, and it won't matter.

Good thing this game is shaping up awesome!

Back? There was an auction house before? When, where?

I hope we go back to the rookie combine days in the attack athletics gym, doing summer circuit games an drills and grinding to get that 55 OVR up to a decent 86. But all i can do is hope.
