NBA Live 15 News Post

NBA Live 15 was shown to GameStop managers last night. Some gamers had an opportunity to play as well, including NBA rookie of the year, Michael Carter-Williams.

I heard from a few people this morning, that the game was pulled from the GameStop Expo show floor, but that wasn't the case. It was only being shown last night. So there were no plans to show the game at all today.

And to that, I have to ask... WHY NOT?!?!?

What a great location to show what you have to the public. Is a three week delay really going to change the way the game is played at this very moment? Doubtful.

Instead of open letters the team should let gamers play the game at these specific events, let them provide real feedback, tweet about their experiences and get more word out about the game.

I want NBA Live 15 to succeed, but they are making it hard for me to believe in them.

NBA Live fans deserve better.

2K has been saying for years the zone cheese is dead, the 3pt cheese is dead. Like I said i've been reading this forum for years and its the same thing every year for both games.

2K has the same problems its had since the 2K10/2K11 days. 2K is hopeless without competition and thats what EA brings. Has Live/EA been any better? No but 2K hasn't been any good either. Tired of buying the same game every year with roster updates.

First im going to address you

This is the NBA Live forums, and I've simply warned enough people to keep 2k out of here to talk about NBA Live, and you've done too much of it already.

That on top of going after the owner of the site....

Lets keep the topic on NBA LIVE and off of 2k...specifically you yourself.

Post as much as you want but you're derailing topics and it has to stop.

Thank you! I was reading these posts like "Where in the hell is 23?" You usually stop all of the 2K talk in its tracks. You were a little late this time lol

Anyway, why does it seem like some posters have more confidence in NBA Live than the development team? If I spent a year on making something epic, I would want everybody and their mom to see it and give feedback! Whats the big secret?!!! Its just a Bball game, not area 51. If I ever made a product, I could only wish I had fans this loyal.

So Gamestop Managers say the game is good? LOL Isn't that the equivalent of AT&T employees telling me how great the Iphone is? Gotta Love It.

Edit: to stay on topic/avoid taking troll bait

The Instagram and YouTube videos do show improvement from Live 14, but IMHO,
this has yet to prove it self worthy of a $60 price tag.

Animations still look "wonky" to me, I see remnants of Live 14 still present. Arms look long, the "washed out" colors that I was in favor for from the reveal trailer and screenshots do not look visually appealing in action.

The court/players look pretty good in that photo..

Sorry, I tried.

One of the best moves David Stern ever made was not selling exclusive rights to NBA video games. I can't imagine what we would've been playing the last 4 years if EA's deep pockets had that opportunity. Less than 2 months from release and you don't want the public to play the game at a major industry event is a bad sign.

Neither company seems competent enough to actually make a proper game that's fresh every year. It's the only reason why im being patient with Live 15, it's because I have no choice. I'll probably get burned again but basketball games desperately need competition.
Ok there is a vast difference in terms of functionality and quality when comparing 2k and Live. I've been playing 2k since 2k2 and there are only 2 years I can recall where the game "did not work properly". One being last year on next gen consoles where certain modes had extremely problematic bugs and a severe loading issue (which I am still unsure if it was the game itself or do to the game, more or less, requiring online access and me having a bad connection); however when it came to on court gameplay I thought it was the best nba 2k to date. The other year was 2k10 (perhaps 2k9) where the game released with a frame rate issue that made the game unplayable, however the game was fine post patch.

Live, on the other hand, hasn't had a competent release since Live 10 dropped in 2009, with 2 cancelations since. 2K isn't perfect, we will never see a perfect game of any genre, and it might not be a brand new game every year, which no sports game is, but it is a quality product year in and year out and is well worth the price of admission each year. And typically the issues with 2k are smaller in comparison to the problems Live has.

Point being, Live receives critism and skeptism for good reason. The series hasn't proven that it's worth the benefit of the doubt where as 2k has a track record of delivering. I want Live to succeed and have a quality release this year. In fact, from what has been shown, the game doesn't look as bad as some are making it seem (honestly don't know how anyone can garner an opinion from about a total of 1 gameplay minute) however EA and the Live team haven't exactly helped there cause to give us a reason to believe in them. Time will tell and if the game is good you will see people flock to Live but at this point people have good reason to be hesitant.

I'm just going to stop getting over worked by anything else by EA lol. Ima pick up you know what on the 7th. And just play that and not even think about live 15 til the demo/trial drops. If it's good I'll pick it up.

I'm not trying to be the rick James of operation sports aka the habitual line crosser lol but what's the big deal with saying the "other games" name aka 2k. Why is it made to be taboo? Aren't we all old enough to handle that it exists?

But to his original point why is live being crucified like this? Especially by the owner of the site? It really comes off biased especially since facts are "the other game" hasn't really released much directly themselves, and what else could he compare it to?? Btw the track record does matter, it's like you know what your getting when you buy double stuff Oreos.. Mmm.. Double stuffed Oreos... Any who I'm just saying I get his point though.

Bash live for the false promises, be my guess, it'll be well deserved I'm still waiting on some blogs, but to bash live for something that was announced already? Something's fishy there.

Everybody wants information yesterday, it's the world we live in, I get it, but unless ea is somehow making this website or the owner personally look bad then he shouldn't be doing blogs bashing live. I just saw ign, another game site, get strung along by wwe 2k and promo'd it as their game of the month, and wasn't able to deliver to the fans what they promised the fans because of the games developer, and guess how much bad things ign posted about the game developer??? None! They handled it like they were supposed to.

I'm some what happy to see that the site owner is human and a fan like me, but there's a difference in our influence on people and our stature. This is similar to hip hop gamer blowing up on live last year, regardless if he was right or not it was inappropriate. Long story short it comes off a bit unprofessional, just remember you guys working on this site ain't the average fan anymore.

It's funny that the year EA heavily marketed nba live and was making regular interactions with the community was with NBA Live 10...which happened to be the highest and best rated Live since it's debut on ps3/xbox 360 systems and to no surprise we all know who was lead producer for that game. Funny how since he left to go back to EA's rival Live has never been the same again. There whole marketing culture changed. It's very sad

Don't be

If I said what I said, it was for good reason. He could very well be banned and be complaining on MS Word instead. It was a warning and he definitely crossed the line and that's as far as im going to go with it.

I wasn't joining the fray and im not going to explain things said 1000 times over and still not heard.

wait a second. Is this not an open forum in which to discuss games whether it be through comparison or otherwise? Facts and opinions are one thing. I think it's different if someone is trolling or trying to be a keyboard killer.

The original issue was that he was stating that it was pulled from the floor, after it was supposed to be available to play yesterday. But I directed him to Ty Stover's tweet that said, it was for one night only, and it never was scheduled to be on the general floor yesterday.

I said it was ridiculous that it wasn't open to the public too, but I was just clarifying to all involved, that it was never scheduled to be there yesterday, so it wasn't "pulled" from the floor like was originally reported.

Okay, at a perfect time to let the public view the game, they chose NOT to? Why?

That is the point of the post. Nobody is trying to bash Live, calm down. These are simple questions. And believe me, the other game gets tough love in that forum as well. Let's not play the Live is the victim role. That's how it is in an information society.

true. open to the public would of been great. even with know video people could blog and write about their impressions.

The issue is showing it for just one day at a show sounds like there are things to hide and it's just not ready.

Products that are stellar don't need controlled environments to receive positive feedback.
