NHL 15 News Post

Sean Ramjagsingh, producer of NHL 15, is stopping by OS this evening for an open chat with NHL fans. In the comments below, you can ask Sean anything and he will answer as many questions as possible on the heels of his interview he did with us today.

If you haven’t done so yet, we’ve covered many of the basics of today’s news in our interview, that there will be no EASHL, GM Connected, OTP, or Life the Life in NHL 15. So don’t be that guy who asks the question which we’ve already answered! However, anything is fair game, and Sean plans to stick around for awhile and answer your questions under the EASportsNHL username.

Keep in mind that we will be patrolling the thread, cleaning up duplicate or ill-tempered posts — keep the questions clean, constructive, and to the point. Please remember that we are enforcing a Zero Tolerance policy towards anything that isn't constructive to this discussion. Think before you reply. We want this to be a constructive and positive experience for all participants!

So with that, ask away!

Thank you, I really just hope that they understand how we, the dedicated fans and consumers, feel. I appreciate their attempt to discuss things with us, but it didn't go that great and there is still a lot left unanswered. I feel if they better understand where we are coming from that perhaps we can get some more interaction and better understand their reasonings and inner workings.

It feels like we're being talked down to, rather than having a conversation with them. The way they never answer the real questions that people ask, is very frustrating.

Yeah, it can feel frustrating at times. The thing to try and remember is this; most of the developers are not PR people. They are not always going to be great with social interactions with the fan base. Just as most fans are probably not easy to deal with on their end either.

Some of them are certainly better at it than others, just as some of us are. But at the end of the day it is a part of the job, and a hard part if your game has been less than stellar. Things can be perceived as great or terrible depending on how they come off, especially when there are so many unanswered issues on the table. But when a game has been down for a few years the public is going to assume the worst until proven otherwise. The opposite is true when the game has been good for a while.

This storm with this particular has been brewing for a while, let's just hope we have seen the worst of days and that brighter futures lay ahead. The most important thing is that we are heard and that they try and communicate back. When those two things stop happening it is not good for anyone!

How is it that NBA Live has the United Center, but NHL doesn't?? Hopefully someone knows.
It has something to do with 2K owning the licence to the actual rink design.

Just let me save my edit lines online so I don't have to spend 3 hours before every game fixing their butchered to **** versions, for ****s sake. lol

I swear to god if I buy the game this year (which I probably will. Skipped on 14, don't play EASHL anyway) and they haven't changed the edit lines thing to the HUT format/let me save them, I'm taking it back to the store and returning it.

Yeah I am almost sure this is the last year of the contact.

I guess there will be a lot of NHL 15 on sale on craiglist or kijiji only a few days after the release. They are lucky that my game is part of a 3 games preordered during the E3 to save 30$ on each of them and I can't only cancel 1 game.

Can we still ask @Rammer34 anything? What a joke, way to destroy a series

Working under a deadline is tough work whether it's lifting a shovel or programming a puck bouncing. I'll miss OTP but I can wait til winter to play. Live the Life was getting fun in NHL 14, but I can get mostly the same experience in BAP. Thanks for the hard work Rammer. I've been around since NHL Hockey on the Genesis and I'll stick around til my wife stops letting me buy consoles!
When they lose half their sales, it's going to look like a really bad decision

I know I posted this in the other forum but i figured i'd say it again to see if i could get a quicker answer, hope thats acceptable here at OS (just recently joined)

Someone PLEASE tell me you can still create players in this game though, like single player, be a gm and so fourth. I like the customization aspect of games and really i feel like a lot of people should feel this way, it gives you a sense of control over your game that you pay $64.19 for.... I know a lot of people are fed up with EA and they know that too. So with that being said I can't imagine EA would want to open up that can of worms if they took that out.

They do have the luxury of being the only game in town. I've done my due diligence with the 2K games and always came back. They could use some competition....Brett Hull Hockey!

I might buy this game if I can create a team, fill it with custom players, play it in BeaGM co-op with my brother and play season with european leagues with their real playing schedule like in old gen season mode. Or if they implemented other leagues in BeaGM, not just NHL. Then I might buy it...
Sadly not any of the above have been answered or announced, especially that part concerning my brother. :-)

Otp is coming so at least that's there.

UNLESS there's a new team leader for this project or people behind this epic failure will change their perspective this "storm" will continue to ravage. Instead of shoving to our throat what they think best for their income, they should listen to their consumers and improve this game!

I dont know how true NBA 2k15 is, but they are listening and they brought back the missing mode. THis is the kind of information I want to hear from RAM, but he's so good in interviews that he can dodge a bullet....I think he has a good career in politics . Kidding aside, EA need to smarten up and really be truthful to their consumers.

I will rent this game and if I dont like it I'll return it since NBA 2k15 is just around the corner.

It's not even the OTP that we are used to though.

It's just nhl players and teams. Not created players. And we don't even know if they will track personal stats or have lobbies, etc.

And from what i read in one of the posts somewhere it is random join so it sounds like you won't even be able to play with friends. Hopefully that person who posted that is incorrect.

Being older, married, jobs, kids, etc, it is really the only way my buddies and I can "get together" is online from our respective home and play some hockey as couch coop no longer works with our schedules and distance we live from each other.

Another year of 14 it is.

Is there going to be a summary of the all the questions he actually answered in one area?

it won't, because it's OTP and not EASHL. Deal with it dude. it will still be 6 v 6 hockey. It likely won't run as smooth as the EASHL we all know but it will be the foundation for next year. We won't be able to experience EASHL on PS4/XB1 until NHL 16. I think most people on here have processed that by now. We should consider ourselves lucky that EA is even planning to put out a patch for OTP. If you absolutely need to play EASHL this season, just play NHL 14

Don't know if this means anything ,but I looked on nhl 15 ps3 version modes on ea sports forum, and season mode wasn't on there either. maybe it will be automaticly in,(wishful thinking). I hope so, all I play is season mode.
