NBA Live 15 Hands-On Impressions (MMGN)

MMGN has posted their NBA Live 15 hands-on impressions. Just a few bullet points below, but make sure you read the entire article.

Shooting has been given a major tweaking, guided by an improved shooting ring on the floor around the player that uses green and red rhythm indicators.
No longer is Durant’s jumper lacking that recognisable style that defines his game. LeBron’s iconic one-step fadeaway jumper seems like something he would actually do.
Sometimes it works really well, and then other times it goes back into its shell, reliving the disastrous, outdated stylings of NBA Live from previous years.
The basketball fundamentals have been given a complex do-over, and for the most part, it plays like a basketball game should.

I'm at the point where I'm done reading or hearing about the game. I need to see with my own eyes. EA has fooled us countless times with cheap talk. The writer did provide a good hands on preview though.

Article really nailed what was wrong with Live 14 visually last year...wasn't so much wanting 'shinier graphics' as it was wanting immersion...there were teams where players were indistinguishable depending on the camera view...then half the players in the game had the same jumper/FT routine...

Seems like they worked on this, which is great news....wonder just how much signature style was added? Can't wait to see KD's jumper...

For those giving it a miss this year you do realise that there is a free trial of the full game where you can play it for a short period of time so it gives you a chance to try before completely writing it off so why not try it out.

Not if you own a PS4 or can't afford to add another subscription service to your list of bills.

From the past couple years, they've been blasted when they post any vids (for good reason), so this does not surprise me. I listened to the whole podcast and just said to myself, "wow, these guys are soooo far behind". No customization is HUGE for me. I feel sorry for guys who only deal with Live. Maybe I'll purchase their game in the future when they provide a full game.

It kind of is. If I was developing a game (or any software, for that matter), I would prefer people try it for themselves rather than see someone else play it. Not saying I agree with the lack of info so far, but I can understand it, if they're truly confident in it.

I just shake my head at some of this stuff. So people criticizing footage of the game dictates EA's marketing strategy? And people are okay with this? Only in the video game industry is this foolishness acceptable. That's like Michael Bay saying "**** it, too many people are criticizing my Ninja Turtles" and proceeding to not show a single second of the movie until the month of release. No commercials, no trailers, no coming soon posters or nothing. Movie drops August 11? You'll get nothing until August 1st lol

It shows the gap in expectations between the two NBA games when we're criticizing the most minute details for the other game while we appear to be missing some of the basic features (roster customization) from Live. I root for Live to close the gap but it seems every year the gap keeps widening. Still want to get my hands on the trial and hope the team has made considerable strides from last year.
